Is it better to try something
And to risk any consequence?
Or worse not to try anything,
Risk being of no consequence?

To myself I make a promise,
A vow to be all I can be;
To live up to my full promise,
To the true potential in me.

Let not others expectations
Impose on you limitations.
They know not your true potential;
Of what you might be capable.
Who knows any better than you
What you might be able to do?
Though your limits you may reset
As extra confidennce you get.

Of expectations all one needs
Is for all of them to exceed.
Not only others but your own,
For potential is an unknown.
With learning, life experience
There comes a growth in confidence.
Who can tell what you can achieve
If in yourself you can believe?

Some leaders thrive on their power,
Great leaders strive to empower.
Some feel power is absolute,
The great ones though... know the real truth.

Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Of all the chances that I ever took
The best by far was to open a book.
For I quickly discovered that to read
Is the most rewarding pastime indeed.

Then reading in me a spark did ignite
To a burning desire one day to write.
Thankfully though, that what writers most need
Is other books, other authors to read
