We think that
when a lover inflates his loved one
he or she is failing to acknowledge their  flaws...

"Love is blind" we say ...
but it may be the other way around

You see ...

Love allows a person to see
the true angelic nature of another,
their halo,
the aureole of divinity.

Love permits
an extrasensory capability of looking deeper into the soul.

And for that reason,
Genuine love
could not be blind.

Another sun sets in the horizon,
but our day is just beginning.
We were on a road that led to nowhere.
But it didn’t matter,
because we couldn’t see the end.
And I thought to myself
that it would be alright
if we postponed all our worries for tomorrow.
Like how you went out through the window
while your parents were asleep, since we had places to be.
Along the way
you started complaining that you were hungry,
and we were running out of gas,
while the only thing I could think about
was how perfectly your hand fit in mine.

By morning’s light
I see so many
Wondrous things
Before my eyes

A rising sun
Of crimson glow
On amber clouds
In early skies

A morning glory
Full in bloom
To greet the day
In shades of blue

A breeze now swaying
Through the leaves
An emerald lawn
Of glistened dew

A butterfly
In happy flight
Enjoying nectar
Fresh and free

A robin tending
To her young
A squirrel
And a bumble bee

Though of all the things
That I may see
Which come alive
My morning view

My favorite sight
Will always be
The beauty when
*I look at you

Pink sun sets on a hidden beach
An orange glow just out of reach
Rainbows ending in vibrant tomorrow
As purple birds, flying to follow
Dolphins sing in golden crested seas
Inner being growing higher than trees
So many visions that are coming true
Each one is paradise next to you

Gray skies upward fling
In the vap'rous breath of Spring
Melting mounds of snow
Trickling rivulets slow

Lines of feathered travelers
Nature's hope inspiring harbingers
Vee Northward o'erhead
Calling high and loud and long
Their ceaseless journey song.

Houses buried far below
Including the one we own
Beneath the weight of heavy snow
Crack complainingly and groan,
Wait with unknowing strain
Warm sun's shine to own.
Spring!

These hands hang down
and my heart droops within;
these feet are tired - my back sags
shouldering so much,
visible and invisible.
Oh Lord, sustain me,
I pray!
Lend me
strength to
continue,
lest I should
fall and not
be able
to get
up.

As dawn approaches
She unfurls butterfly wings
Towards a distant sunrise
And soars beyond the clouds
To a place where morning glories grow
In silence, while her beauty
Sings a hymn of sunlight

sings a bird in the open
sings too a caged bird

one to forget the pain
the other to make its freedom heard.

Rustic urns and garden walls awaiting
and cabbage roses open—their fragrance sweet:
A spicy aroma carried on the breeze,
Oh, enjoy it all now while summer lasts!

I sat there, alone.
I sat there alone, for hours.
I sat there alone, for long days and nights.
I sat there alone, for months depressed and sour.
My Goldfinch, in a clumsy state of being,
In the same corner, she got sick of seeing, the same walls around her, the same walls around me.

I took a moment in that inspiring hour.
I wondered what made her so sick of a life of a coward.

I wondered what if,
I wondered what if I had her wings,
I wondered what if she had what I had, being free.
I thought of how things would have been,
Of her soaring, wandering in places I've never seen.
I took her to the roof in a rush, opened the cage, and sat her for once free!
She spread her wings, in a joyful spirit, free.
Time froze that iternal moment of hope, of her to fly with my dreams far, further than I could ever reach.

She flew, shaked her wings. For once, twice then thrice.

To the ground, she fell, unable to fly.
It is too late, that cage got the best of her. Those four walls got the best of me.

Free,

We will never be.

i held a bird in my hands
his wings were broken
he begged me to fix him
i tried, oh how i tried,
but all he really wanted
was the strength to fly away

greeting the morning
with spoonfuls of sunshine
in our bitter teas
we smell the earth
beneath the boots
of endless steps
rain filled
feeding the roots
of walnut trees

crushing daisies
between the pages
capturing breaths
in fishing nets
we glint in moonlight
silver and slight
