You promised
A lifetime of poetry
Just to leave without
A single line
So I search for them in stollen verses...

I rhyme to pass time;
for no particular reason,
just my own personal pleasing.

8 years since you moved on
It's still so hard to believe, you're gone
I want to know how you're doing,
I want to believe you're somehow around me

The child inside me, often bangs on my heart
She always thought someday we'd restart.
Fate is such a strange thing
I don't know what you were here to teach me, if anything

Maybe it was to hold onto love even, if it's scary
Or to fall into change, I should be more daring?
I could ponder for longer, but I'll leave it at that for now.
I'll never forget you Ossie.
You were such a blessing to have in my life.

The moon trails behind,
a pale guardian on high
chasing fleeting feet.

I think wonder is the moon’s favorite language—and children are fluent. 🌙✨

Being kind isn't being weak,
Having mercy isn't weak,
Acknowledging the strength of others,
Is mercy and kindness,
And a brave person acknowledges the strength of others.

I want someone who wants me for me,
wholeheartedly.
to hold my hand in public spaces
never scared to let go
To kiss me in the rain because it sets me ablaze
I want to be loved loudly!! Never unsure.
A yearning love for the ages,
Written in the stars
I want you to look at me and proclaim my love. I want you, all of you! Oh, god, I do.
And all I ask of you?
Do you love me too?

We don't fight
With fists or guns
But with words;
Ideas, ideals and puns.
We are a movement, use your words for good!

Immortality
On the hill,
laid side by side,
wrapped in warmth,
hands intertwined.

breath met breath,
so did love,
shy moon peeked
through drifting clouds.

above them,
stars scattered in dark,
but it was their hearts
that held the night.
just had a déjà vu of my stargazing date with a past-life lover

~
It should be stark
and unprovoked,
yet fight to conceal.

It should justify
its intrusion
by layering
new narratives:
each a wonderland,
each a poison.

It should spring
like a cat,
cloud like doubt,
evaporate like
cigarettes at dawn.

It should backlight
truth, fictionalize
history.

It should undo
reality, drift into abyss
with the Lady of Shalott.

It should lead
the march into the sea,
it should die gracefully.

I was once curiously asked:
"Why write poetry?
Does it pay the bills?"

I replied with a smile:
"It does far more than that -
it heals."
