Distant love
Amee Sep 2016
Maybe I wasn't all there, maybe you weren't all here either.
But then to love is to take from each other, things that can never be returned.

Shoe bites
Amee Jul 2016
Like my favourite pair of pointees, watching right back at me, whispering "pick me, pick me.."

I picked you, after a long troubled walk on streets where lights were dim, I picked you, as your leather looked shiny and thin.

I picked you, who lay there without a hitch, I picked you, thinking there'll be no further confusion or glitch.

Unaware of the material tags you bare,
but you seemed so nice on my first wear to further care.

There was no question of competition, you become my favourite red pair without inhibition.

I'll stand tall in you and your fine body sleek, you knew my cold feet needed some heat.

I bought you, my favourite pair, with love, no despair.

You were 3 inches? but in time you caused such pain, you started wearing out in the time to the silly rain.

Slicing my skin from within, came along funny pricking pin.

Red love wise? or a trade off to beauty than a smart wear in disguise?

A little did I bleed here and there, but **** you'd care..Since you were mine I wasn't scared, I just couldn't get you off my stare.

I would try to match a dress just to put my feet in you, I'd give mom funny reasons unlikely to be true.

I wore the pain around as you made me feel all pretty, tall and somewhat right.

I put bandages then, while you hurt me with your touch of leather edgy might.

More tight..? I refuse, you leave a mark like a permanent bruise, but I loved you, I wanted to keep you and that wasn't any news.

Your memories even today remain loved and intact, as I put you back in the box that's tightly packed.

Saying a goodbye to my crazy act, I roam bear feet now than putting my feet through another short wrath.
Shoe bites remind me of you.

They asked me how I met him
Amee Oct 2015
We met in the lush greens,
We met in the smoke stare,
We met sitting, chatting on a swing,
We met laughing at whatever life would bring.

We met like unstable magnets,
We met under warm blankets,
We met below the shooting stars,
We met on long drives bikes and cars.

We met in swimming waters,
We met drinking quarters,
We met on beaches & shores,
We met and I promise nothing bores.

We met again when we missed the fun,
We met again, our hands were numb,
We met again when there was silence,
We met again with a loss of balance.

And then again we met writing poetry.
When lonely nights ensue, I ponder over the past.
Memories well kept, you wish they last.

One of all those poems in draft I dared to public.

Choices
Amee May 2015
Since childhood we made choices of good or bad
Since childhood we made choices to be happy or sad

Choices we made stick to truth or fake
Choices we made learning to give or take

Teenage passed, parental pressure in making choices
Teenage passed, with our thoughts all filled of their noises

Our growing dreams were hard choices to refine
Our growing dreams to chase? Or society divine?

Threatening were some choices, see clues
Threatening were valued people, we lose

So promise...

Today I will stick to the choices I make
Today as I love myself more than it takes

Will not run around to make your world mine
Will not run to get your attention in dime

At every step two paths divide
At any step you can choose yours and I will choose mine
For all those who forget to choose themself over others, practice makes you perfect.

Take time. Choose yourself!

While little did it rain
We followed her down the lane
Waving an order of restrain
Shouting,"This looks insane!"

What the hell was going on?
Who beat her here and there?
Why the hell were her clothes torn?
Leaving face all swollen, scars bare?

We followed her through the meadow
Asking,"Why let yourself through this?"
She ran from her own shadow
Crying, "It's for the stomach and kids."

"My man is my ****, I'm bought by his kiss,
My eyes are blinded by his love mist,
Being sold every night, was a surprise twist,
I believe in the end he's mine and I am his."

Dreaming to sail world with money they make
She knew not, all his stupid promises  were fake
Few years from now, no patterns brake
Her body's advantage is all he'd take

This agonising pain, holds no gain
Don't push your life away in filthy drain
But how to her do we explain?
So young, so beautiful, stuck in a trafficking chain

Cruel world for those who know nothing
Innocence will fade, if we don't do something

Again...?
Amee Jan 2015
Sometimes the truth is hard to find,
A little bit of trust, eats a bit of your mind,
I run over rocks to feel the pain,
Let it rain, don't seek, no gain.

Only for a moment I stopped to look back,
For a smile on my face he left me years back,
His hands were comforting, his voice was deep,
Love ran on his face, love literally did reek.

It's all hazy now, didn't break no trust,
I was his, and so was my lust,
Lies and darkness he endowed upon me,
Where was his love flying, all so suddenly?

I tried to figure, solve, what triggered,
I tried to detach, but my happiness withered,
Used ways and means to leave him behind,
Couldn't help myself but look back, in hindsight.

Every imposition was suddenly revoked,
Felt free, with no hope, a bit choked,
What was I doing? What was I? So mad?
In the end it's my life, what makes me glad.

I won't do this, I won't do that,
Hell of a rebel, I had in my hat,
I wasn't going to fall, not again,
Somehow my heart beat wasn't the same.

This new life, then held my hand,
Only to make me understand,
Just two of us, no needs, no demand,
Here we are, here together we stand.

Different as it was, I could look in his eyes,
Fun things we did, everyday is still a surprise,
No false promises, no space for lies,
Wonder how he makes me feel this confident and shy!

Would I walk a mile again? Heart's been through a lot,
Will love get back, with no hate in plot?
I have everything, as much as I need,
Just need some love, don't have to beg or plead.

*Let love happen again?

Background
Amee Jan 2015
Everyday is a wake up struggle,
Pack bags, one orange on the way we juggle,
Family and work, life is double,
It's hard to keep calm face, show no trouble.

I know him and her of day to day,
So fit and fine on chair they stay,
Computer screen, staring away,
Knows who what in background lay?

Back home a kid cries for mom,
Waiting for daddy to sing a song,
Back home an old lady sitting calm,
While they work for her meds & balm

Ever wonder how many couple fights,
To settle together at a work place right?
Stress of work bald patterns light,
Work work work, no sleep all night

A drink with friends, end of a busy week,
Time spend with self or many colleagues?
Every peny for travel, savings, no leak,
Getting leaves for vacations? chances look bleak.

Can I keep this baby now?
Will I be able to provide? And how?
On flip side they have a baby, wow!
Sweets & new pictures of baby bow.

Financial misery to avoid,
Fill insurance papers, with help of a guide,
For extra outings investments tried,
New car, furniture, for further studies to provide.

Thought of a boyfriend, fiancée, husband, wife,
Travel or celebrate kids bday is a strife,
Tension encountered every minute of work life,
Torn between emotions, decisions in office is rife.

So many things going on in our mind,
Nowhere to see, breathe or peace we find,
This is a trade off of an evolving humankind,
Something goes on in the background all the time.

Make it a happy day regardless
You are not blindfolded anymore

KILLING THEM SOFTLY
Amee Nov 2014
Walk a mile or two from highway down
A school was located in a small town
Summer was very hard to miss
Sun soared up, to give a kiss
Little children came out to play
In break of a boring long day

Evening, teddy bears were sold
Outside the gate, by a man old
Big and small, brown, grey, white
In a black robe for dollars five
One day, kids hit him with a rock
"Defected teddies!", old man they mock

Anger ensued in the mister seller
Love for the kids or rage dweller?
He waited for kids to be good
But long can he live w/o food?
Hurt was his enormous heart
Revenge was this day to start

He picked a knife and killed em kids
Tiny, little, small ****** bits
Tortured, butchered and slaughtered
To hell, the revenge was offered
Stuffed body pieces in big cotton teddy
Killed himself that day very

Years went by, in blink of an eye
Stories told of how kids die
School shut down, high inflation rate
Loud painful noises heard till date
Entrance had tall gates of metal
Midnight, hinges creaking sound settle

Souls of notorious kids scream
"Wake us from this horrendous dream"
They know not they are just ghosts
Hanging in teddy bears, from tree host
And there below sits the old man, black cloaked
Killing new passing kids, in teddies blood soaked
Passing by a park, we happened to have come across hawkers selling teddy bears hanging from a tree. Creepy visual led to writing a horror story.

Ain’t SHE a Beauty?
Amee Nov 2014
She was born to my mom, with tiny fingers and hands two
Little hairy, big eyes, lashes pretty and ****

I saw her through glass doors and window panes
Wanted to touch her, hold her, squeeze her like an insane

She kicked her legs quick, crawled, the toddler was wise
Innocence blinked from her beautiful eyes

Raw words blurted out of her mouth
"Deedee, Deedee", louder her shout

Carry her around in my arms everywhere
Tell her a short story, round bed we’d share

Made her do all the naughty things
Break some rules, climb up the grills

I played music of an odd band
She tapped her feet, and clapped her hands

Adorable dress I’d make her wear
Barbie doll, so pretty and stare

Seven pony tails, for fun I tied
Few small fights over which we cried

Hot chocolate every night we share
Never knew so much you would care

Don’t ever stop dancing my little Sis
Swing along the wind, pace brisk
I’ll be here if you need to fall back
Hold your hand tight and never slack
You’re my best friend, you’re my soul
Two of us make best of all
In you a little I live
Luck knew what it had to give
Seeds we sow, little plants we grow
Always know, I love you so

Detours be the best
Walk in silence of Everest
From a hill we look below
(Please don't go)

Cards we play
Your commentary, hurray!
I sit by, winning in a row
(Please don't go)

From friends to more
A smoke we score
So high, walk a road
(Please don't go)

Starry evening
Drawing cheesy dream
We sit together low
(Please don't go)

Write some more!
Random? sure!
Pages we tore
(Please don't go)

In a car, we ride
a little far, no fright
Tell funny stories yo
(Please don't go)

Surprise tight kiss
Rubbed my lower lips
Taking it slow
(Please don't go)

My heart beat you hear
Together we cheer
Let the liking flow
(Please don't go)

Random things be cool
Stay here my fool
So much to show
(Please don't go)

We pack our things
A new day to begin
Our reflection's glow
(Please don't go)

Wait a moment or two
Time flies for us few
My heart says no
You say "PLEASE DON'T GO."

I reach out to hold beard of this old man,
On balcony edge he makes me stand.
"It's scary Grandpa, don't leave my hand."
"Worry not my child, won't let you fall on this land."

Sparrows chirping as we feed them sprout,
Flying here and there, I laugh out loud.
Pointing to the sky, "Look at that white cloud."
I learned so quick, he felt so proud.

Bought me different chocolates every night,
I'd sit eating happily, enjoying every bite.
Pretty dress, like a fairy, wings he made me wear,
"Look at me now, I can fly, I swear!"

"This is our stable," I point to the grass
Grandpa carried me on his back at last.
Like a horse, he'd ride smoothly on the floor
Five year old rider, shouting "Off to the door!"

Toys on the table, every day a few,
Puppies and bears all red, yellow and blue,
Tricycle and tents, small pillow fights,
Without his kiss, I wouldn't sleep at night.

We stole cashew nuts, while grandma prayed,
Ate them quick, before her eyebrows raised.
Small trips around the city in our car,
So many stories and learnings he'd shower.

Clapped at my dance moves to every song,
Scolded me for everything I'd do wrong.
Fell on my ankle, losing his balance once,
Couldn't walk that day, but I loved him, I'd pounce

We get a call, a call late at night,
My parents pack bags, rush to the airport flight.
Silence hurt every now and then,
Mom and dad didn't know where to begin.

"Grandma, say something!" But she doesn't
He was here and then he wasn't?
So much more to play, and so little time?
I shed tear every time I remember his rhymes

Cheesecake / Piece-cake
Amee Oct 2014
I look to the left, I look to the right
A smell pulls me to a cafe inside
Aware that I'm tired 'cause day's been long
There's nothing more for today to go wrong
I pull a chair to sit with pride

I look to the left, I look to the right
I want, I want, I want something sweet this night
People sitting, chit chatting amidst a loud song
Where else would I rather tonight belong
Waiter brings the menu, I start to read and recite

I look to the left, I look to the right
Brain wants the taste of appealing yellow bright
Yummy for my tummy, baked with crumbles
Run through the gourmet wondering where I'd stumble
Has to be creamy, textured, a heavy slice of delight

I look to the left, I look to the right
He sat by me, "Cheesecake!", he cried
It's shiny, it's delicious, it's lemon, it's moist
Cheesecake it is! There's no question of diet
Why did I not choose this first, right?

He looks to the left, I look to the right
Slides his friendly arm around, I stared back all surprised
Waiter "Here's Lemon cheesecake with crumbles white"
Put a seal of approval? Yes, we might!

We could stare at each other forever alright,
But we'd rather prefer cheesecake; to infinite
For bigger and bigger bite we fight,
As we realise this is our bestest night,
Indulged in smoothness, to heaven we confide

Hair Color
Amee Oct 2014
Mirror, mirror, on the wall, tell me what suits,
Soft natural highlights, or strong punk roots?
Auburn red or beach blonde hair,
Brunette with greens, or short blunt rare?

Mermaid midnight old balayage blues,
Grey ombré curled with lilac hues?
Lemon yellow paint or neon spice,
Purple color that matches my hazel eyes!

Tousled, textured, twirled and twined,
We could take it to the front, or let it all behind.
Black hair with beautiful mahogany dye,
Fringes looking pretty every day passing by.

Straight hair with an asymmetrical bob,
Lips painted red, formal and hot.
Tie buns and bows with colorful clips,
Grow pink hair long, till they reach my hips.

Fish tail braid like a Boho chic,
All pastel shades spread, across the width.
Blonde and bright, they are in my sight,
Soon to be a celebrity, wearing them uptight.

Burgundy wine perm, crazy long,
Every hair color has a song.
There are chances that they may look all wrong,
But hey! I'm not scared to just play along!
