Duzy
No one can know your pain
Not nearly as well as yourself
But the rope won't take it away
It just gives it to someone else

I have spent so many of my todays
wrapped up in the notion
of tomorrow.

And the tomorrows that came and went
were all very beautiful.

But they were tomorrows,
and I want to live
Today.

“Why does she write poetry?”
“She must be in love...”
“I wonder who she’s writing about.”

My words are more
than mindless infatuation,
though they lend themselves
to this tendency.
For instance, I wrote this
in less that 5 minutes,
because “love” isn’t the only
motivation to my poetry.
Don’t underestimate
the intention of my inspiration.

The poem speaks for itself, or, at least I hope it does.....

Orange Rose
I never wondered why the sky was blue,
Or wondered why the trees would lose their leaves.
I never asked why mourning doves would coo,
At morning time when silence rode the breeze.

I never asked why sunset turned clouds pink.
Or wondered why the grass would roll down hills.
It wasn't that I didn't like to think,
But questions never came to me at will.

I never questioned why you said "I do."
Or ever held uncertainty for your smile.
I never doubted you'd always be true.
I knew you'd be beside me every mile.

I didn't notice when the tears would fall.
I never questioned why you'd always lie.
I never thought about our last phone call.
But always wondered why you had to die.
almost all my poems start out all light and fluffy and then reality punches you in the face.  i don't know why.

I’ve made my mint from you by force feeding you fears,
you made it up to yourself by wasting my years.

The “what if’s,” “where at’s,” and questionable deeds,
self righteous as I am your good intentions are just unwatered, planted seeds.

You spun detailed, vivid plans to any and all who would listen,
but if we both worked so ******* ‘us’ why is it just my brow that glistens?

The history is our guide, our hope and a lesson used for learning,
you didn’t study, repeat offender as you set fire to your past, now burning.

Only ashes remain for me to sift through and ***** out,
you let your flame burn, ever so small - impossible to remove doubt.

Blackened, burned and now a soul too dark to leave,
the truth fought through and your intentions I couldn’t sieve.

We are now just the walking dead, “I care about you,” another lie that’s been fed.

Hold me while you hate everything that I love for,
trick my trust and lie for my lust, I can’t survive anymore.

I painted our picture with red lashes from this heart within,
I should have noticed when you cut all ties, it’s too late to try again.

My heart stops.
I'm on the ground.
My life flashes past in an instant.
I see you smiling, laughing and enjoying.
What will you do without me now?
Please don't cry because of me.
Please forget me and leave.
I lift up my hand.
Great, I'm bleeding.
Suddenly I feel your heart bleeding out as I will.
The people crowd around me.
I can hear the ambulances
But all I can think of is you.
I'm gonna miss you so much when I'm gone
Which is ironic, because I won't be there to miss you.
Don't follow me whatever you do.
I need to know that you're safe.
I'm carried, into an ambulance probably
And feel myself zooming through the roads
Within a minute, I'm at the hospital.
I'm carried out and into a room
But I won't make it out alive, I know.
Please, don't let me break your heart
Forget our happy days, forget my name
And find someone new to love.
I'm still bleeding, most likely to death
And I'll never see your face again
The world seems to disappear
And I put a smile on my face
And say goodbye to a world once dear.
This is the alternate version, the view of the boy in my previous poem going back home.
