We grow accustomed to the Dark—
When light is put away—
As when the Neighbor holds the Lamp
To witness her Goodbye—

A Moment—We uncertain step
For newness of the night—
Then—fit our Vision to the Dark—
And meet the Road—*****—

And so of larger—Darkness—
Those Evenings of the Brain—
When not a Moon disclose a sign—
Or Star—come out—within—

The Bravest—***** a little—
And sometimes hit a Tree
Directly in the Forehead—
But as they learn to see—

Either the Darkness alters—
Or something in the sight
Adjusts itself to Midnight—
And Life steps almost straight.
Don't allow yourself to feel "dumb" or "stupid" based on your inability to achieve something you care little about.

On nights like these
when the rain is pouring hard and the thunder is screaming and howling
I remember you.
I can't almost contain myself from reaching out again
But then I do
I find the will in myself to contain
I am an incandescent light
I am untouchable by rain
thunder
lighting
the wind
and the moon
I am me
most importantly
I am free
I live in California and it's currently 1:04 in the morning and its raining and thundering like crazy.
darkness gives a spotlight to the emptiness in my soul
but the morning sun fills in the void
Pocket full of iron,
Pull silver from my throat

Iodine stained grin
Tip back nickel and tin

(Is that the taste of blood or pennies in my mouth?)
Sorry, chemistry on the brain

Writing
has set
me free.

It is
something
nobody
can ever
take away
from me.
**
hollow & cold,
I find the vapid touch
of a longtime lover
to be my only friend

death has come knocking
twice today
& I've tried to answer both times

you will be forever missed
Loss is always difficult. Maybe talking about it will help someone.
