If my fate is to love you
From a distance
Then I'll burn for you
Like a star in your night sky
Bright, steady, reliable
Unwavering
Until the end of time.
I finally broke down every wall for You

And you picked up every single stone
Just to throw it back at me.........

Have you ever given yourself?
With full heart, exposed.
Have you ever felt love?
Deep inside with no regrets.
Have you ever felt lost?
Your efforts all in vain.
Have you ever shut down?
Feeling nothing but pain.
In the end with no remains.
All things stay the same.
Will you ever play that game?
Is your feeling worth the wait.
Find your light inside
That’s the true test of your inner strength
Through all the trials and tribulations
But still a flame lit inside
Your path may seem straight forward in the beginning
But the road may veer off in an unexpected direction
That’s when you have to remember the flame inside.
Let it light your way
If it becomes dim please hang on to it
Its your way to sobriety
Its your flashlight to the safety of the other side
Of the trials and tribulations
And though your life will be part of a series of mountains and hills
That inner flame will light the way
Reminding you every day
That you are strong enough to carry it through

What is buried so deep inside
A memory so entwined
many lines and differing angles
The same frame can be seen
Differently with different lenses
Different outcome for every scene
Can alter all the things
And I would not remain
as the person I am
Sometimes, I wish I hadn’t just been the backseat of your car,
Intoxicated. My first drunk hook up. My first. Period.
I picture myself being champagne on Valentine’s Day.
I picture myself being you, nervous in the car, holding Starbucks
because you know I love coffee. Sometimes, I picture myself as her,
calling you a stalker and ignoring your calls,
but then I see myself. I call you beautiful,
turn you into poetry, laugh at your bad jokes,
I see myself as I become your drunk Wednesday night
when you’re sad. I see myself as I say no,
I become a “this is not a good idea”
and you a “we’ll deal with the consequences in the morning.”
We laugh because this hurts too much.
You take her out for dinner and I burrow money
for Plan B because you forgot you don’t like condoms
and clearly have no idea how children are made.
I have already named him. He has your curls and
my anxiety. He is smart. Except, I never wanted kids and
you would be a great father. Instead, you tell her
the beach reminds you of her and I cry in a McDonald’s
bathroom with my friend as relief floods through me that
the test comes negative. I stop talking to you,
move forward, meet someone new and before long
see myself becoming you. Because isn’t that the cycle?
Bad men turn good women into bad women who turn
good men into bad men. I’ll set him free so he can hurt
someone like me, and I drink red wine as I read her
poems about him and me.
Washed my hands in ***** water
To cleanse my deepest sins
Caught a ride on a dragonfly
Oh, the places I’ve been
Spent those days in an endless maze
LSD induced
Took my blade and cut my way
Through the issues of my youth

Deaf and blind I knew it all as I shook my angry fist
Clarity met me here at the bottom of life’s pit

Do we cross a point of no return
Do we step beyond to live and learn
If evil’s tempted by all that’s good
Perhaps the scheme is misunderstood
My demon fights for love within
It’s a consuming flame that never ends

As he threw the silver at their feet
He could taste his bitter wicked deed
It festered in his immortal soul
His beliefs became his greatest foe

So dare to put this to the test
And learn to love yourself the best.
Shadows of lost souls roam to and fro or move on.
i like the countryside and all there is to see
so many different things you can view for free
there are lots of thing waiting to be found
lots of flowers and plants growing from the ground
there are animals the badger and the hare
hedgehogs and the squirrel all of them are there
there are many berries some that you can eat
mushrooms and the garlic a tasty little treat
there are mice and moles and the little shrew
many other creature waiting there for you
lots and lots of things that nature has to give
mother natures way that helps the world to live
I’m sorry I had to leave
I’m sorry you blame yourself
I’m sorry the timing just wasn’t right
I’m sorry I left you in pain
I know you feel broken inside, you just won’t admit it
Something wasn’t right, I had to go
Leaving you feeling helpless
Broken and confused
Not understanding why
Saying hello and right away goodbye
I’m sorry I had to leave
Don’t blame yourself
The time wasn’t right
But I will see you one day
When I get to look into my mothers eyes, for the first time...
