From the very moment that you pulled away
My body was turned into a grave
Flowers no longer sprouted in my heart where your words would be
Sunlight could not reach the darkest parts of me
The vines that were once intertwined with my heart
Decided that it was time to break apart
You were the person to bring me life
and you were the one who gave me the knife
Nothing is forever
No one is forever
Although I was hoping that you could have been
I desired for you to be next to me until the end of time
I wanted nothing more than to feel your energy wrapped around mine
To hold your soul as close to me as possible
To cherish your mind and indulge in your adventures
To love and caress every edge and curve of your body
To feel your breath upon my skin
To taste the lust over your lips
Nothing is forever
No one is forever
Although I was hoping that you could have been
I woke up from the best dream.
So lucid, and vivid.
Defined with every detail.
Raising from my bed, grasping for thin air.
But nothing is there.
Just the cold thin air.

Chilling to the spine, despair sets In.
Pondering and wondering where I sit.

Dreams reflect revelations of the mind.
And in mine a seductress so divine.
Clouded angel sent with blue ribbons.
Skin cloaked with the glare of sunshine.
A touch softer than a skyline cloud.
Voice sweeter than the most melodic sound.

She gently layed her hand in mine.
And said come with me my dear.
You have taken a lifetime to find.

She came from outta nowhere.
Off in the distance then straight to me.
Hand in hand we walked through.
The land if dream.
Conversations about many things.

Here stands this majestic lady so beautiful it seems.
But she stood there with no face.
Like scribbles on paper is the veil she wore.
Then I ask, why don't you reveal who you are?

She said...

It is not yet that time.
I am only a figment and ideal but a reality.
Of what's to come your way.
Your mind is a beautiful place where I wait.
To be brought to life.
I see into your soul and you into mine.
And my face will be revealed to you in time.

But until then...

Just look into these colorless eyes.
And know that I am a reality and alive.
One day your world will bring us together.
And forever we will live and die.

Then she lay her head against my chest.
To listen to the drumming of my heart.
Calm but so fast and rapid it beats.
Music to we ears she said it seems.
In this moment I am alive, one with another.
A few moments of silence.
Standing quietly.
Holding one another.
Sun illuminates the skin.
The warmth sends chills toy spine.

One last moment I slowly raise my head.
To press my lips against her head.
And all of a sudden, she falls away.
And I'm awake...

I guess that's what I was grasping for...

But I have no worries
Because what she sang in my ears.
Rings there with each breath I take.
And one day I shall find you again.
Veil of distortion unraveled.
Face revealed.
Hand in hand once again.
My dreams made a reality.
And in this moment we will be one.
Then I shall hold you and simply say.

I love you...

Until this moment comes.
I will rise with arms open wide.
Ready to keep you from falling away.
Waiting to catch you...

You tell your kid to give the dog food and water. He mishears you and asks what moonwater is, and you fashion his mistake into a poem. ;)

When a poet doesn't know the answer
To the simplest questions
It's because their mind is so filled
With abnormal poetic revisions

When a poet doesn't know
The way to say how they feel
It's because they need to write it out
So they know the feelings are real

When a poet doesn't know
How to say I love you
It's because they haven't found a rhyme
That brings out the best in you

When a poet doesn't know what to say
Or simply how to make you feel better
They just type up some lines and rhymes
Like... "We'll get through this together"

When a poets doesn't know the answer
Or how to say what they feel
Or that they're in love with you
Or how to make you feel better still

And they don't have the words to write it all down....
That poet's world is sure to crumble to the ground
As a known poet among friends, they find it odd that I don't always have the right words to express myself in normal conversations sometimes. Maybe this will shed some light on that.
My heart is numb...
   because of you
My soul is numb...
   because of you
I'm unable to laugh...
   because of you
I'm unable to smile...
   because of you
I can't feel emotion, happy or sad...
   because of you
But yet I reach for you...  a tiny white pill, sparkling brightly in my hand...  You promise me relief, and I believe you...
The bottle is full,
so I take one, then another
I cannot get enough of you...
I'm slipping into the gentle, safe place I've so longed for...
Floating above myself, coddled by the soft warm air swirling around my naked body...
The last breath leaves my lungs...
My eyes close, for the final time...
Am I alive?
Does it matter?
The pain is gone...
   *because of you

I tried to find you at the bottom of a bottle
Laying down on the bathroom floor
My loneliness was a rattle in the windows
You said you don't want me anymore

And you left me
Standing on a corner crying,
Feeling like a fool for trying
I don't even remember
Why I'm wasting all these tears on you
I wish I could erase our memory
'Cause you didn't give a **** about me
Oh, finally I'm through
Wasting all these tears on you
These tears on you

You ain't worth another sleepless night
And I'll do everything I gotta do to get you off my mind
'Cause what you wanted I couldn't give
What you did, boy, I'll never forget

And you left me
Standing on a corner crying
Feeling like a fool for trying
I don't even remember
Why I'm wasting all these tears on you
I wish I could erase our memory
'Cause you didn't give a **** about me
Oh, finally I'm through
Wasting all these tears on you
These tears on you

And you left me
Standing on a corner crying
Feeling like a fool for trying
I don't even remember
Why I'm wasting all these tears on you
I wish I could erase our memory
'Cause you didn't give a **** about me
Oh, finally I'm through
Wasting all these tears on you
Oh, oh, these tears on you

I tried to find you at the bottom of a bottle
Laying down on the bathroom floor
"Wasting All These Tears" is a song by singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope, written by Caitlyn Smith and Rollie Gaalswyk.

I don't typically post lyrics from other people but I just LOVE this song so much. :)

Pain
    Might lessen
         Over
              time

But
       The memories
            Never
                 Fade
