In Solitude

In solitude...
There's constant talk of the moon
And incessant wishes upon stars
Each word is cast unto paper
Unsure if they'd stretch that far

In solitude...
I embody pelts of droplets from the sky
As thunder mark the seconds that would elapse
Stagnant puddles of liquid dreams
Ever flowing in endless traps

In solitude...
I feel the urge to lose all balance
Aloneness beckons like a long lost friend
Always strange but familiar
To see and be at the bitter end

If hers is a long and lonely climb
Atop her distant perch,
His then was a lengthy trek
Across the endless earth.
Inspired by sunshine and Nickelcreek. Always means always.

I pick up the broken pieces of my delicate heart,
Feeling the sharp edges cut my skin.

My blood oozes out my flesh,
Your name carried within.

You have poisoned my body,
So I bleed you out.

With every drop,
A kiss is left unfelt.

Dried out, it becomes scars,
Reminders of you,
And what you did to my once whole heart.

These broken pieces hurt like knives.
They burn my skin, redden it.
But only a silent scream escapes,
As I fall to the ground.

I lay on this deserted desert.
Only the cracked ground for company.

My thirst is unquenchable,
Since you are my water.

I'm far away from you,
Carrying this broken heart,
Watching it burn under the sun,
To red ashes.

My blood darkens,
Revenge cornering my mind.

But I love you,
How could you?

Slowly, I burn too.
I burn, with my broken heart.

Blood evaporating to the sky,
To heaven.

While I lay here,
In hell.

I clutch my heart,
Feeling the pain,
Loving it,
Since that's all I've learned to do.
My Love is a Metaphor.

My Broken Heart is a Metaphor.

Musarrat Bte Salam
Many nights have passed
                       in deep slumber,
O’ how I missed my muse
that came alive in sheer darkness.
Wide eyes of hers-
            black lashes that
slowly unwrapped themselves
              from one another
and became the flicker
of a distant fire in the woods.
Tonight, I am finally awake-
           to witness how the
crescent moon waits silently
           for her starry poetry
before the world spins again.
          Truly, hours of darkness
made their home
            on her soft skin.

O’ beloved, the way you became the night
        and how the dusk
embraced you
along the arches of your collarbones-
left this soul gasping for more.

My mind formed many more verses,
      To sing to you-
For I have finally found you-
          Amidst the thousand lost stars.
Nocturne- a poetry that deals with the theme of the night.

I got hit with an AK-47
A bunch of other kids got all cut up too
I'd rather sit at home and die
of radiation from my computer
Then to have to go to school again
Just to become a ghoul

It's not funny.  Learning is so frightening
today.  All the cameras brother has and
Still, we are not safe.  I'd hate to be
A target/kid today

There is a cure, but they won't figure it out
"Give 'em more guns.  Give 'em more guns."
Is all they ever shout
Well, listen here friend let's just say
Let's fix this thing and do it today
Say take 'em all guns  Take 'em all away
Take 'em all guns  Just take them all away

Everything would come to an end,my love
even the frenzied season of love we celebrate.
In loneliness I muse, dreamily
pour the molten gold of my heart, incessantly
in to molds one after another;
on this one I don't have to remind myself not even once,
in my consciousness  this abstract is darkly painted
                 on it's live silvery screen:

She sits waiting patiently for me to come to rest,
                 in that secluded, quiet house
where love and longing, sighs and moans,
even the poetic cadence, my only aphrodisiac,
like many hued evening clouds,
disappear in the dark, till the next day dawns.

At the break of dawn,
I turn, mumble, wake and yawn;
And turn to see
You, in our blanket castle.

The dainty sunshine bathes your face;
Of your matted hair, the breeze makes a menace.
I play with shadows of you-
And them I hold captive, in our blanket castle.

Now, the garden swallows twitter on the sill
A familiar longing, in me they instill.
The pillow feathers, the tickling toes, the warm giggles-
I realize- are but memories of you- in our blanket castle.
Suggestions are welcome!
