the days have different names
but don't deserve them
each one falls again the same
my body knows what to do
so I let it ride mindless

Hungover on the bus home
Dropping in and out
of a pleasant nap
A faded smile on my face
Sweet memories of last night

all your plans are but a wish
worth making, no doubt
but hold on loosely
the wind may scatter your leaves
rain falls on a pleasant day

the day ahead has been lived
once before and will again
the rhythm rolls so forth
I know the play well
nothing worth a memory

music makes no sound
food has no flavor
the sky either shines or rains
all the time remains taken
without you I have nothing

Our World is burning
but underneath the cover
is my paradise
painting over this pale life
It makes misery worth it

Summer exists as
a daydream while I toil
the golden hours by
pure moments occur shortly
and so sweet as a orange

There is only one
thing left for a flower to
do once it has bloomed
fight it or let it happen
even the best can still lose

two friends sitting on the train
drinking box wine
not giving a ****
how much I envy them
as I'm rolling into work

Forever off-white tiles that never
be anything else by the color of pale *****
daily bleached floors cover up the smell
of what is otherwise known as decay

the man behind the counter
has a weak smile and a dying heart
his eyes drain of color each day
there was fire in his blood
but the righteous flame has grown cold

you pay for the fuel and snack food
he tells you to "Have a nice day"
even though it seems like
he's the one who could use one
but all you can say is a mild "Thanks"
then move on
