I was steered here
when I was sixty-three
to
The Land Of The Lakes

The hills and fells
disinterest me
a lovely lake
however
can occasionally
catch my eye

One day I took
a wintry walk
wearing a chapeau
crunching snow
on a Windermere Jetty
jutting out into
the heart of the park
pretending
to intend
to continue
beyond the end

A memory was snapped
into a permanent place
by the capturing eye

There is no fruitful approach
when the elk leans over the stream
and mossy footprints are left behind.
You can only wait for the wind
to bring forward the smell of heat.
Wonder if he looks within himself
while carrying on or
if he knows how useless fate is.

Skyler
I found that darkness within,
That which kept me awake,
And would lead me into a spin.

Found under blades,
On mellow nights.
As the sun fades

The shadow appears.
Bringing all my sorrows,
All my worries and fears.

The knife would cure
The overwhelming feelings,
All which I saw impure.

Blood would run dry,
Leaving me scarred.
Yet, I would still cry.

That shadow is gone,
Though there are many more.
I am no longer a pawn.
Speaks for itself. I battle with self-harm, I have been winning for a while but that's not to say the thought doesn't creep up. But I find myself under a blade less & less as time has gone.

to get the ideal view
aiming for the stars....

If my breath is worth your word
Then I would forfeit all to live your world
Where the light and dark
are nothing but shades of grey
And your love would smother me
drive me out, push me
Heavily slowly relentlessly

Into my world
Where,
we'd meet again.
Is this what we've been waiting for?
this
is like being stood up at the altar
when the 'bottom drawer' is full.

She says,
pull yourself together.

I say,
lockdown is one step up
from the grave
and
no one is going to save you
but yourself.

It slinks
Around the edges
Of my
Intention
As I flow
And pause
And flow,
A version of
The Questions
Without
Answer,
Asking me
To prove
That
I am.
