Fear

Fear is an emotion
An adrenaline run
One that orders hairs
on the skin to attention.
A fright, a scare.  An upset
to the system.
Since time begun
From cavemen to now
Fear has made us stronger
otherwise we would not survive.
Live, breathe, come out alive.
But nobody likes fear.
It is not nice to now, experience
Life changes into first gear
for power, to exist, to run.
The breath gets short,
the heart moans and groans
under protest. It has fear.
We all do, but wish we had not.

This world has become black and white with illustrations in clear color

Side by side we dear only protest in silent agony,
for statistics to see and noone else to notice

I cleared my senses so long ago,
discovered shades of gray

Soon blurred lines became crossed lines in a flash of lonesome honesty

In a simple world with simple values I have chosen to be loud

As I could walk along the graves
or be carried by the waves,
I don't remember where I've been
or if the waters were serene.
For as long as it may seem
Being with you is but a dream.
Way before people in human form,
we existed as air and light.

Lavender lights in the northern regions
called to each other, and we responded freely.

Sound sounded differently then, reaching
inside our airy souls, overarching temporal existence.

Dancing through infinite space, leaping beyond knowing,
we became pure unfettered feeling.

Come across the threshold of light, riding on your smile.
All that was then, is still our ancient home.

one day you're 16
and broken
and you swore to the universe
you'd never let anyone
hold your happiness for you ever again

then you're 21
and still breathing
and you continue to love yourself
'cause if you won't,
no one else will

Light cloud pavilion light rain
Dark yard day weary open
Sit look green moss colour
About to on person clothes come

There's light cloud, and drizzle round the pavilion,
In the dark yard, I wearily open a gate.
I sit and look at the colour of green moss,
Ready for people's clothing to pick up.

Parents are your first teachers;
But if they were permissive,
Teachers have rules they follow through on.
If parents were too strict,
Teachers cut you slack.
If you fall, they may or may not pick you up.
If you were abused, they will report it,
Despite all your objections.
If you've been excluded, you're now in a class.
If you're really smart, they'll show you how much there is to learn.
If you're struggling, they'll show you how to learn.
If you're afraid, stand beside a teacher.
If you're a bully, you will confront your victims.
If you're in doubt, they'll search you out.
If you're cocky, they'll trim your spurs.
If you're lonely, they have room.
If you need solitude, they have a room.
If you're in love, they know the season;
If you know hate, they know the feeling.
When you compete, they're in the seats.
When you're sad, or conflicted,
Teachers listen.
They taught Moses, Jesus and Mohamed,
Yes. Teachers beget teachers.
They instructed Socrates, Aristotle and Plato.
They put us in North America and on the moon.
They worked with Salk and Banting, Gates and Jobs.
Anyone can learn something.
They even taught our parents,
But not everyone learns.
*Hey, Teachers, don't leave those kids alone!
The 10% Rule:If you have ten people in a room, one of them is sure to be an *******. If you have fifty teachers in a school, five are sure to be jerks. It's the same in all professions and walks of life.
