"semiotics" poems
Examine the word "embrace" How syllables escape into sound Waves Mouth shapes Release E - M - BR - A - CE How tender A gentle approach E... arms open wide the invitation an elongated welcome "Come close" Lips parted into a smile M... a joining together Communion BR... limbs entangling Millimeters pulse A... the one enclosed CE... teeth in contact, lips dangle Hold that position The lock No letting go. No gaps. No holes In bracchium -- this is your home. Hug -- to console a rush, a thud, an immediate response H - U - G. Hug. Hush. Here. Now. Tighter. Speech Pathology & Linguistics. How the mouth works, how we make sense of words -- Why does your face look like that when you say those words? Anthropology. Semiotics. Etymology. Notice how we gather and release, what we do to make an embrace, a hug. Mouths feel before nerves could touch. Have we yearned so much that utterances have become placeholders? Settling for words, we fixate on how we say them Read my lips gained a new meaning Embrace, hug Opening and closing, holding and releasing, touching Wishing an action upon someone is not tantamount to sensations of nerve-endings But bodies never really touch Atoms push and pull It's the physics around them that we feel When palms caress When fingers trace When skin brushes upon skin Physics Let the physics of my words be enough until our electrons can interact again In a dance The expanse between your atoms and mine is dismissible as long as you hold on to the words "embrace" and "hug" and "kiss" and "love" and the anatomy of how these words come to be Until then, I wrap my whispers around yours Their warmth is the 3rd law of motion in action

The doubts of tomorrow my flow's been borrowed . I never solicited for your POWER. . All I did was study the crowded, . wondered how they spent their hours . for my time is here . worries to sear .  I cut the cloth it sounds soothing to your ear. . You never met me but I helped you appear . . Afraid to get laid . or  .  obsess with getting paid? . . . Shatter the jade . remove all the fables and plays . . . . . . . These sonnets. . . . . Harmonic . . Semiotics . I know the how to study objects. . . . . . Old ways forgotten. . . New ways to solve it. . . . For money itself was the excuse of the chicken hearted.

DON'T DOUBT YOUR TOMMORROWs - read to Crystal Cruz Aybar
The twisting and turning, grumbling, churning, elation, desperation and more. Reflexive minds compacting semiotics until an inevitable meaninglessness rears up in smugness. *"There is Nothing here. Nothing for you Nothing Of you. Nothing."* The mind begins again, fumbling, stumbling, eureka-ing, ambling, grasping and more. Reflexive minds compacting semiotics until an inevitable meaninglessness rears up in smugness. *"There is Nothing here. Nothing for you, Nothing Of you, Nothing."* The mind will not accept, that it, in it's biological supremacy, is simultaneously, Nothing. A joke. Some vapid expression of consciousness. The mind will only protect, that which it most values; Esteem. Reverence of it's own structure. The Marvel. A human, student, sales-assistant, a sister... ...Something? ...Anything?... *"There is Nothing here. Nothing for you, Nothing Of you, Nothing."* The mind is a tool, one of the most primitive. Natural selection adding accessories like some distasteful outfit. The mind means well. Aching to Justify, with inelegant adjectives, it's fondness of itself. Petrified of it's "Nothingness";   The wordlessness that conveys meaning no mind can ascribe to language. *"There is Nothing here. Nothing for you, Nothing Of you, Nothing."* please Stop mind. The thrashing and the squirming, stop flexing your Precocious Verbiage. just stop. . . allow Me to quell your convolution, using your own Pig English; you are unequivocally a  Thing. And, there IS Nothing here. And it is NOT For you. And it is not OF you. //It//Is//Nothing// you, Are a possession, I, the possessor. Therefore you, My most precious of things, Will never fathom Me. . *Because you are Something, and so, you are not.* But I am Nothing. For, I - am.

semiotics ~ relating to signs and symbols "*playful semiotics that makes this digital (poem) feel weirdly tender*"^ (W.A. Gibson) dear friend, will always take tender even weirdly, perhaps especially, when so rendered, and so sweetly tendered but here's the rub, try the onomatopoeia of tender say it slow the tongue reaches up to touch the roof of the mouth, twice, ending in an  smoothly soft exhaling, (go ahead, divert, try it, then return) here, but I do not search for a semiotic, for there can be none, (and there is indeed, none) plain or weirdly, that captures the incredible elegance this royalty of word, so nuanced, so wildly variegated, a thousand shades of existential coloration, far exceeding the rainbow's basic monochromatic monoply, but I know my.reader, many of whom at this exact moment (are taking a pausal break) are taking forefinger to stroke a sleeping cheek, a hand to rub and trace a comforting reassurance to a distempered child, so I need not supply even one more, or than to mention in passing my tenderest adoration to all of you who foolishly read my dabbling, and within them find nuggets I did not even contemplate, and bring me, eyes wetted. to this moment, (9:00am Thu Sep 18), yes, eyes wet, this silly old man, whose heart may be yet healed, with the weirdly wildly tenderest of gratitude                                                                                nml
