Murakami
got a little lost in your eyes,
felt a little nervous around them.
caught you glancing more than a dozen times.
can’t say i didn’t stare back.

maybe i read it all wrong,
maybe i’m delusional and all, and
maybe it’s all in my head!

but then— why were you looking at me like that?

like, i made you hold your breath
you wanted my attention
looked my way for approval

it can’t possibly be all in my head.
i’m so sure of this!
because if it wasn’t for sure, there’s no way you would be looking at me like that.

all you need is some distance, so you can realize why you’re looking at me like that~

then the time came,
the setting was set,
i was ready for you.
but the one factor, the one variable that i didn’t account for,
the girl

that i almost forgot,
that caught me by surprise—
also caught you.

then i understood.
it’s just what you do.
I want to stand out,
I want to be recognized,
But I don't get their eyes,
Am I on the right route?
does it matter, who I am?
You love me,
But I don't love you,
I love him,
But he doesn't love me.

What goes around,
comes back around.

I guess I deserve that,
I stabbed you in your back,
And look he has done the same,
All I have is shame.

What goes around,
comes back around.

You gave me everything,
I gave you something,
He gave me nothing,
And I gave him everything.
I am the cause of my own demise, I wish I were wise.
Call me a liar,
I said I would never hurt you,
But I lit your world on fire.
hurt people hurt people

Spring has brought
flowers to you
it cares not who you are
it cares not what you do
the flowers bloom simply
and the spring
brings them to you

A broken voice
In a broken world
Still sings a merry song.
Reading this poem again prompted me to find "The Darkling Thrush" by Thomas Hardy.

I need to close the curtains
To my soul
No unnecessary light
No peeking inside
Just me and the night

Just me and the quiet.
