A chance encounter
a snapshot in time
life's random moments
are simply sublime

What if....

What if every little thought
That lives inside your head
Instead of hiding away in there
Was spoken out, was said?

Would you be embarrassed?
Would you hate your mouth?
Would you rather be mute
Than let the truth come out?

What if every little thing
That people thought of you
Instead of being tucked away
Was heard, was listened to?

Would you be ashamed?
Would you cover your ears?
Would you rather be deaf
Than let the truth come near?

And what if every image
That passes through your thoughts
Was freed from its prison
To roam until it rots?

Would you be disgusted?
Would you look away?
Would you rather be blind
Than see your thoughts at play?

at 4 in the
morning the sun
is never up
but i usually am

i worry
about things
that are out of
my control
even more about
things that are

get up early
when i work
and earlier
when i don’t
the older i get the
more i learn
sometimes you
need to cry it out

alone
at night
into your pillow
the blankets
wrapped all
around you

sometimes you
need to cry
and cry
and cry

until the morning
sun falls across
the tears dried
under your lashes

and the lump
in your throat has
dissolved so you can
breathe with ease

you need to get up
let hot water
wash it away
let the steam rising
from your mug soften
any sorrow left around
your morning eyes
take a deep breath
don’t mention it
to anyone

and
just
keep
going

i will
just
keep
going

Attention now is turning

The Wheel about to spin
Fire is still burning

Twilight is true blue
My soul within me yearning

James, one for you
Phillipians you are learning

When it bubbles up
And my mind is motion churning

        Patience. Asians. Wisdom!

Sharing poetry
Exposes one's self
To the elements
One has to weather
The storm
what happened
what went wrong
what made you stop
what held you back
what scared you off
what did i do
what can i do
what can't i do
what were we
what was it
what do you regret
what do you miss
what is there to
what is there to save
what was there before
what can be salvaged
what is worth keeping
what is worth it

                                                                      what?

i have never had anything to my name
would you name your roses after me?
please excuse my desperation
