A new third world ******* emerged.
South of the U.S.
North of Mexico.
On the Gulf Coast.

Behind the joy of fundraising mittens
Lies the truth, fear and delayed expectations
Pouring milk over cereal is hardly caretaking
Armored with semi
automatics and fruit roll-ups
Healing and unity are synonyms for
Denial
social appearance
and shifting blame
If not literally helpless, they pretend;
Your homelessness should not embarrass you
When you tell your cold son that this tent
is a blessing
They’re doing what they can
in spite of the circumstances
They voted for
warm milk
took money
And sabotaged
the guy
Who sees, knows and fights
I’m dreading
the well worn rationalization
and their refusal to be defeated
While white authoritarians
Drain blood from our hearts
Maybe Mom wasn’t losing her mind.
"If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention."
It's all the white supremacist the president fails to mention.
It's all these racist institutions that only aim for the retention,
of all people of color still fighting against oppression.
And all this lack of action is only building up the tension.
I see all the reaction,
I feel the apprehension.
The impact still remains,
regardless of intention.
And if we remain silent,
we continue the suppression.

What we idealize
We condemn.
Strip it from the backs
Of those we oppress,
Notwithstanding ourselves.
Cram it in a box marked “DO NOT TOUCH” -
A false preservation.
Fasten wonder and difference in
Wax-body museums.
The overture of youth, displaced.
Forcibly removed and
Compartmentalized until
Homogeneity reigns supreme
In the halls of collective memory.
Admonishment replaces admiration.
The administration demands -
How dare anyone have what
We stole from ourselves?
Stroke the boney-smooth
boney smooth

Clean

The further West we go,
the further Right to the beginning

Cleansed

clenched fists
angry thoughts, centered on...

...the fluttering

shaking

Turner it around,

Storm on horizon, lightning split the air,
thunder crack the night now,
'Cause we're always there.
You know Eight Owl's sittin'
stand in a council everywhere?
Forget your hopes see the future now,
Aryan teeth are bared.

I drive past a sign for Trump.

I’m dreaming of a White Christmas
With not one foreigner you know;
Where the people speaking
Like good Americans
The rest should get on planes and go.

The best Christmas is a Lily White One.
With stuff that Jesus understood;
Like Santa’s reindeers
And trees with tinsel
And toys not one made of wood.

I’m screaming for a White Christmas
So shove that crap that Christ’s a Jew!
Go and burn in hellfire with you!
And my best Christmas wish comes true.
This is not quite the Christmas I grew up with, but it was out there waiting in the wings. Well, it's here now!

Do you know the meaning of "stop and frisk"?
I'm sorry black brother, you do.
Have you ever had to change your voice in order to get a job?
I'm sorry black sister, you have.
Have you ever had to remove your hijab because you needed to take a flight?
I'm sorry brown girl, you have.
Has anyone ever insisted you have extensive knowledge on every school subject?
I'm sorry yellow friend, someone has.
Have you ever been told to go back to your country, despite the fact that you're already there?
I'm sorry red man, you have.
Have you ever been called and illegal immigrant, but you were born in the u.s?
I'm sorry Latino friend, you have.
Have you ever been told that racism doesn't exist and, by someone with pale skin?
I know I have.

So this is to the ones who have been told that they "aren't black enough" because they use proper grammar and their pants don't sag.
The brown boys with beards that get called "towel heads"
To the Asian kids that are just as smart as the next guy.
To the native Americans that still get called Indians.
To the brown girls that get told that they don't have to wear their scarves because "we're in America"
Racism is still a problem in the U.S. And a lot of other places.
It's a problem for everyone who isn't white.
So for someone to say it doesn't exist, is just infuriating.
We are dying every day and people say its our fault.. But they're killing us.
