Dameon Smith Nov 2014
Shhhh! Don't make a peep!
Shhhh! Don't let them hear!

Hear the terror in your voice,
Hear your voice tremble.

Tremble like your fingers,
Tremble in the night.

Night lasts forever,
Night is when they come.

Come to take you away,
Come to gobble you up.

Up goes the pitch of your voice,
Up goes the danger when you call,

Call ' Who's there?!'
Call 'Help!'

Help isn't coming,
Help doesn't care.
Night terrors aren't fun. At all.
They call me into the room
They absorb me into their essence
I materialize into their being.

They say
YOU WILL MARRY ME HERE!
I wake up from the dream.
I still feel them holding onto my inner thigh
Grasping
HIGHER
until literally they are squeezing my unmentionable
I lay in apathy
I notice I'm alone, in my room.
I have no fear for these entities
quite literally I could care less
When I die I will be
**FREE
This is an actual situation that happened to me on August 30 of 2014.

I fear no terrors, but they do perplex me.

Demons in a sound mind
overtake the peace and need to be
free from nightly terrors
and from imprisoned memories
Here they come with gnashing teeth
and dancing waves of fiery rage
rewriting drama into horror
while taking center stage
Disrupting calming shades of gray
with an abruptly forceful wind
erasing pleasant waves of grace
replacing the good within
Awake in madness too deep to cure
dig nails into your skull and weep
there is no just for the living
and there is none for those who sleep
I've been having hellish nightmares lately. They are just awful.

(C) Maxwell 2014
O dear Morpheus, for thy rest be no disturbance in thee?
For thy sole ideas be neither order nor structure in flow?
Fear I sense for thy sacrèd inmost sanctum closes its eye.
This is a Sijo that I wrote one morning after having trouble sleeping. Its language is mostly influenced by William Shakespeare (hence the grave accent).

i write
to
hide
away
from the
terrors
of the
world.
i write
to
sink
slowly
into the
terrors
of my
mind.
