Shall I call you “Bruno”?
Shall I call you “Beano”?
What is in a name?
Are they not the same?
Both have world-wide fame.
Names are just a game.
You are very happy
Whate’er your name may be.
Paw tapping on the phone;
Teeth gnawing on a bone;
Dancing around the room -
Lovely flowers in bloom;
Watching TV cartoon;
Mesmerised by the moon...
A rose smells just as sweet,
Whatever name you tweet.

.......................................it                             is
                                     a cat's                      duty
                                  to be cute                 and purr
                           when petted to not come when called
                          unless there is food involved and then
                      it should ( @ ) be fish, milk ( @ ) or cheese
                       beef in gravy, chicken in sauce or a can of
---------------smelly cat food that (**) makes the poor dog-----------------
 ----------------- salivate feeling  deprived as he looks at---------------------
                            his dish of kibbles so dry so boring
                             thinking why not me I could be a
                                  cat I could learn to purr and
                                          check me out I'm
                                              already cute
                                                   (    )
                                                   (    )
                                                   (    )
I love both cats and dogs!

A storm is coming.

Darkness has descended in the middle of the day;
The sunshine is no more, now the sky is becoming grey.
In fear I hide beneath the shelter, trying to be safe.
Inside I hide, beneath the rain.

Thunder above booms out as a warning;
Be prepared to be scared, for the lightning is coming.
Dogs howl under a flash of light, on a very dark day;
Where is the light that I woke up to this morning?

Water pours down from the clouds up above;
Where is the sunlight that brings us warmth?
Where are all those promised, better days?
Why are we so fearful of a little bit of rain and so in love with the sun?

People run inside, trying not to get their hair and clothes wet;
The man in shorts is now having regrets.
The cold hits the air like the touch of death;
Thunder and lightning are no friends of ours...
So bring your brolly with you, or stay indoors
And hide away with your pets.

I'll try to write this in a poem
don't know if I can, we'll see

there's a book being formed
includes some folks from HP

has pictures, stories and poems
"Forever In Our Hearts" it's called

if you've wanted to be published
here's a chance, your family will be
enthralled

it's for a good cause as well you see
half of proceeds will go to rescues

of those wonderful pets who become family
who just might have inspired your muse
I'm nearly finished but realized I hadn't invited here. I've noticed some poems and requested their use, but there are probably still some gems out there. I'm close to finish and don't want to make it too expensive (it's based on number of pages) but if you message me in the next week or so your pet's tribute could be included. As noted there is an emphasis on rescues and half of the proceeds will go to rescue efforts.

An elegant and slender creature crossing
Nature with great agility,
I must say, I find you very charming.

Your senses are never unaware
Even sleep and darkness leave them ready
As none can stop your piercing stare.

You prove to be warm when I'm with you
However, you are unfortunately
Hostile and cold towards strangers.

We cannot understand each other. Is it a crime?
Perish the thought! There isn't a doubt that you and me
Will continue this friendship for all time.
Another poem originally written in my mother tongue. I decided to give another shot at writing on a new subject, and I believe it came out nicely! Let me know what you think.

There once was a girl
Who collected all creatures
All with at least one curl
she had screechers
And when passing she would say hi merl
Or hey mr. preachers
But all of them were well
Well fed well mannered and even well.. Pampered
For if they wanted anything they would just ring a bell
They would scamper
Here and scamper there
For every where they may play
As long as they don't touch their hair
Then they may do as wish as long as they obey
It was a sad thing if they did not listen
For example the day casey braided her hair
Oh how her eyes did glisten
With a mischievous flair
When she was caught you could see realization in her eyes
And soon after her hair was bleached and turned green
And tried a many lies.
But the look Gave her away
now i am sure you can find the moral. But if you can’t i will help do not disobey
your elders or they may dye your hair.

You can learn a lot
from a Facebook page
just from the pictures shown

what things a person collects
what kinds of things they own

their likes and dislikes
vacations that they've taken

how many kids
how many pets
even what time they awaken

but mostly I like to notice
how many "selfies" there are

sometimes it's quite amazing
you'd think they were
some kind of star

headshots would be another
good name
for those poses oh so hammy

smiling, grinning, grimacing
goofy, questioning, campy

those infamous pictures
on Facebook
shots showing a craving
that everyone look!
I don't do much with FB, but every now and then I kind of "check in". I can't help but notice the phenomenon of the numbers of pictures. One woman has 4 kids, a husband and a dog. I was looking for pictures of the dog for the Pets' book I'm working on. I really had to "dig".  The pictures of herself outnumbered all the others by at least 10 to 1. :-) I mean, kids change - adults not so much;
dogs do fun things and poses - adults meh!

I wait all day,
I sleep all night.
I like to play.
I do not bite.

I'm your best friend,
I'm here for you.
I will defend
you through and through.

I have four legs.
I'm big and small.
I can be scary
or not at all.

You know me best.
I know you too.
I do what you ask.
because I love you.

When I'm older,
my life all spent,
I'll wish for more
than I could give.

For a new friend
who will love you
and be loyal
like I was to you.

Until that day,
I'll be your friend.
I will stay true,
until the end.
For all beloved pets.
