Living with day and night
black and white
crepe myrtles of white and pink
variety and variance make me think
now and then a dissonant pitch
makes my life rich.

But sometime what seems at odds
is not.  Like seeing Love AND God
contemplation AND friendship
solitude AND kinship.
Why must it be either or
against or for?
Why can’t we see through
the differences between me and you?

What is so sad
what seems so bad
is when difference leads to rejection
then I must leave for my own protection.
When she said, “If you are this then you can’t be that!”
I left.  I won’t be her doormat.

Some people thrive on opposition
attracted to dominance and friction
but at this stage of being me
I choose to be free
to see through those things that divide
beyond the outer mar to the beauty inside.
Author’s Note:  This morning I woke thinking about a terrible moment of rejection by someone whom I had loved, been loyal to, and cherished in spite of some of her obvious limitations and failures. I was not feeling bitterness but just a little sad.  She is represented in the last two stanzas of this poem.  I also want to thank a poet on HelloPoetry.com who goes by the name of Melancholy of Innocence  for the partial inspiration for this poem.  He is represented in the second line of the second stanza.  I am so very inspired by the variety of work I read on https://hellopoetry.com/

Me confundes.

nothing ever so lovely....
caught my attention so far,
though smeared and melancholy,
its splendor spoilt in mar,

yet they recite in wean,
the lyrical memoir
of the eyes hazel green,
brimming with desire....

Um barco na areia encalhado
De um inf’liz já quase acabado
Pela tempestade levado
Submetido a tão triste fado

Por maus caminhos de Proteu
Sem os conselhos de Nereu
O rumo traçado perdeu
Três mil e uma injúrias sofreu

Pelo o oceano ambos cuspidos
Conjuntamente destruídos
Ossos e madeira partidos
Rochedos e areal tingidos

Um último olhar para o mar
Já sem muito mais para dar
E menos em que acreditar
Assim um grito faz soar:

“Será só isto que consegue!?
Este corpo jamais se ergue
Vinde lá a onda que se segue
E que no profundo me entregue!"

Arrastado p’la margem fora
Que puxa-o a corrente agora
Para o além se vai embora
Destino Estige, sem demora

El río desemboca en el océano
sin darse cuenta.
La bahía
no sabe dónde comienza
dónde acaba el mar, dónde el peñasco…
Así tu boca me confunde
dejándome incapaz de saber
dónde están los bordes
en que comienzo yo
en que acabas tú.
Un ritmo como el oleaje
me marea:
desembocamos juntos:
cómo llamar a este nuevo cuerpo
cómo si está ocupado el aliento
         en arreciarnos
                 a cada bocado.

Just days.
Sometimes simple, Sometimes complicated
They feed us or  it´s time we need to forget.
But always teaching us something.
At the end, just merely moments of our existence.
Happening just one time in the same way.
Blinks in the universal tread.
We decide if it´s woth of remember or if is just  dead time, time to forget.
With a song, a picture even a few letters, days that could mark our lives or just pass like a bitter pill.
At the end.
It´s just another day.
Tomorrow is another chance to star over...
Just days, days of our lives..

Ojos de pasado
ahogados en lágrimas y dudas de antaño,
tiéndeles la mano
ámalos sin reparo.
Manos temblorosas
sonrisa en busca y captura
felicidad y vida viviendo una ruptura.
Dale cariño a esa fragilidad
hasta que el sol poniente sea acariciado por el mar.
