You noticed me like lightning
Between the darkness your eyes flickered
In the movement and the night, I could only
                        Still
You caught me among the glow of streetlamps
I was wasting away with the oil

And you lit me
From across the storm
And I was blazing in an ocean
    of you
And you know what,
I have never known anyone
who spoke like thunder
but touched like
                               rain
me

on asphalt roads
she paraded me
what clown
am
i

her man muscles
squeezed me

what moisture from sky
that her teardrop be found
without
falling
when
am
i

structured feel me
what you have
sculpted
this
you
are
poetry scent

carry me through your next belly
for it is here
on
the
mountain

i have been waiting
time has pressed
on
my
chest

sing to me
of
vulutures

sing to me of thieves

what is this that you have chosen to take from me
that my line be defiled of meaning
that your thought crumble on me
what ocean have i drown you in

all these questions
we're asked
of
me

yes
we are
asked
of
me
ride
on
me
this
fine road she paved
?

I am the rain, contact and I stain,
hydration for the nation but they always complain.
I'm better than snow, or atleast they say so,
less cold but I'm bold when I make the wind blow.

Oh how the clouds cover all of my scars,
but the comforting shelter blocks the beautiful stars.
And all of the thunder blocks all of my cries,
I slip when I drip straight out of the skies.
I'm the rain, I'm the rain, down the drain.

I am the rain, sun storms I can feign,
it will fight for the light but I always remain.
My puddles collect each dribble and speck,
with a splash then I'm brash just like you would expect.

Oh how the clouds cover all of my scars,
the blanket of grey mask the twinkle of Mars.
And all of the lightning makes everyone blind,
you will pass greener grass when I'm around, you will find.
I'm the rain, I'm the rain, sunshine's bane.

I am the rain, wash away the pain,
I get bored and absorb into dirt and to grain.
My heart is the storm, it still keeps me warm,
it shakes, the Earth quakes, but still keeps it's form.

Oh how the clouds cover all of my scars,
as I fall down on sidewalks and shower the cars.
And when the wind blows it pushes me far away,
I'll travel through gravel but always will stay.
I'm the rain, I'm the rain, through each vein.

he told me once that my hair
reminded him of the mid-afternoon sun
streaming in through fogged up windows
during the january thaw
he said that my eyes looked like a
blurry sky the day before a summer storm
and that he swore he could hear the
lightning crackle while i slept
we are all idiots blinded by the idea that
love can prevail above all things
and when he talks to be like that
i think i may just be a lunatic
- an imagined future...
Grey Mask Jan 2018
Sky of steel, dull grey,
polished silver, and aged black.

Rain like cool tears, morning dew,
letting go, and washing away.

Veins of lightning, powerful yet brief,
explosive like thought, and pure like fire.

Roaring thunder, ringing hammer fall,
echoing in bones, and sudden like a gunshot.

Nature's wrath, world's fury,
untamed by man, and carrying us away.

She was like the sky
      made up of lightning
      and thunder,
      chaos amidst the calm;
      yet smiles and clears up
      whenever her sun
      was around.

Lightning strikes, I hold my head
Left
Just look forward, nothing's bad
Right
Took everything that I had
Up
Did nothing but make me mad
Down
Feel like fire, I ain't dead

You know, we're the artifacts
We're the future, that's a fact
Steel yourself, not over yet
I will ****, you wanna bet?

Incoherent screaming
Clap
Bloodied to the core
Clap
Don't forget the feeling
Snare
Succumb to the gore
Break
*****, you're dead!
