I was asked, why do I write and all I could think of to say,
was because I believe.

I believe looks matter.
There is
healing in a look of compassion,
love in understanding,
comfort in tears cried with me.

But one look away, ignoring
can break a heart.

I believe touch matters.
There is
care enclosed in a hug,
relief in a hand placed on a shoulder,
encouragement in a touch on the passing by.

But pulling away, distance
can break a heart.

I believe words matter.
There is
acceptance in words of forgiveness,
restoration in mercy and grace,
healing in kind, soothing whispers.

But one word out of bitterness, hatred
can break a person.

I write because I believe words matter.
I write because I believe you matter.

Sometimes it takes
thousands of words
to heal a broken soul

and I want to tell you,

I will write
word after word,
paragraph after paragraph,
page after page.
As long as it takes,
I will write until you finally believe
that you matter.

Even fate picks it's favorites,
I'm sure of this as I watch the sunset. My porch reveals to much.
The homeless hide their homes in the corners,
Sleeping in the shadows.
The heat leaving them sun burned and drunken.
Can you spare some change?
I've got 5 mouths to feed...
But I always can find some,
Even when they admit it's for beer.
I wonder each time if hope abandons them all.
I know that people can give up on the ones they love,
I know that life can be painful.
But I lay awake at night,
knowing that could be any one of us. Just across the street,
Lays a man in the bushes,
Sleeping off a drunken state,
Not knowing if he'll eat tomorrow.
And me,
I've got 5 mouths to feed.

Our words can unite a divided nation.
Build bridges across seas by hand extensions
Mend the broken, help the lost find redemption
We just need it live on air on all radio stations.

Our words can give life to those with ambition.
a heart beat echoing to a divine vision.
Spreading far and wide like a new year celebration.
Take over the world with an idea,
that should be our personal mission

Our words are the beginning of an education

The bridge to an understanding,
And the key to all appreciation
Lets take it to heart in our meditation.

Our words come with need for precision,
There are no opportunities for corrections,
Too many distractions could make us act without true comprehension.
Too many times we lose ourselves to those sad complications.

Our words can arouse suspicion,
Or Quench the cravings for aggression,
Connect paths of two in opposite directions.
Making something beautiful happen can be our consolation

My words.
I like to start with a salutation.
I love to end them with honest appreciation.
And I speak to leave people in awe of my dedication.
Love should be like genes,
passed along through every generation
never stopping.
**Never.

when i laid eyes on you,
or maybe perhaps,
you laid eyes on me
it felt like a miracle took place

i guess
you somewhat
stitched my heart together
once again

my skin
had been
an array of
deep lines

as you touched
my lines
you connected them
making them look as if they were constellations

you gave me stars
and the moon to see them
it was beautiful
they were my stars

"beautiful", you murmured
as you left
a litter of kisses
on my collarbone

you held my hand
like it had been
the only thing
you ever wanted

you took my pain
away with every kiss
and you erased my lines
with every smile

you believed in me.

you healed me.

To the reader who is alone right now,
Find comfort in my poetry,
To you I will vow,
That my words will never keep you lonely,

To the reader who is in love with someone,
Don't worry about what it will become,
Love that person with all your heart,
Love that person even if something is keeping you apart,

To the reader who is heartbroken,
Grab a pen,
Write down what you feel,
Write until you start to heal,

To the reader who has depression,
I have a huge compassion,
For you,
Please give yourself the happiness you are due,

To the reader suffering with anxiety,
I know how you're feeling,
Now is not a time to worry,
Nor a time to cling,

To all my readers,
I am not your leader,
But I want to give you all some advice,
Please think about it twice,
Stop worrying,
Start living.
To my readers.
