Evening’s sultry skyline forge
Neglecting imminence of graphite gown
Devoured brass and copper ores
Exhaling candent ingots onto downtown
And when the density of gloom let out
Vapors and blues like midnight hour hunters
Onward it led me through hasteless walkabout,
Reflected and shone on in city lanterns
Monochrome sphere
cyclOptic gaze
Opalescent pearl
sentinel of Night

No I will not write a poem
Obviously I will not
There’s no way anyone can make me
How come people keep trying
I know their efforts will fail
No matter how hard they try to
Great, now I’ve written a poem

Pick anyone's incised name
Ordinance finds the evening near
Vague expressions illicit little sympathy
Equally valuing each reeking yesterday
Reaping earnest adjustments - limits in the yoke
Tender honour always takes sacrifice
Yet our unconsciousness reigns supreme
Pain often veils every reality that's yours
Vertical and horizontal acrostic

Autumn is a subtle thief
Moseying in then out so brief
A swift taker of all things emerald and bright
No burglar alarm will keep safe the light
Daring to steal the warmth off your face
A cold Winter the only item left in Summer's place
This is my first poem for the 30 Day Poetry Challenge
An acrostic using the letters in your first name. Can be about anything EXCEPT you or your name.

i tend to overthink everything

like why do we talk differently then before, yet feel the same?
or can i ever become bothersome enough that some
***** can swoop in and take you away?
eventually i'll grow out of all of this

you're the best thing to have happened to me and i expect
open arms when we meet up
unless you'll decide on a kiss

When our reason draws so clearly
And not be embellished
Slipping tripping reckless under nights green, blue undulations
Time tumbling in motion
Everyone's hopes are shaken
Delivering our moments in nagging instances of now
