Let me introduce myself.
I am your worst nightmare.
Your biggest regret.
And the reason for your despair.

Let me introduce myself.
I am the sadness in your veins.
Your hidden secrets.
And the reason for your worst pain.

Let me introduce myself.
I am the heavyness in your heart.
Your broken dreams.
And the reason you feel so torn apart.

Honestly, let's face facts;
We all should care for one another as we are but don’t—
Aren’t we all headed towards a plot, six feet deep?

I never understood why a woman wears make-up—
Are you making a cover up for your insecurities?
Are you making yourself available for the he said she said?
Or was there a moment in your life someone said
You were less than beautiful?
And if such a statement was verbalized,
Let me reassure you that you are beautiful and no one can take that away.

 Honestly, let's face facts;
We all should care for one another as we are but don’t—
Aren’t we all headed towards a plot, six feet deep?

I never understood why a man clenches so tight to his pride—
Are you that afraid of what you encompass inside?
Are you making pretentious decisions to impress the next window shopper?
Or was there a moment in your life someone said
You were less than a man?
And if such statement was verbalized,
Let me reassure you that you are only the man you decide to be and no one can take that away.
Every hello is a reason to come,
every goodbye is a reason to go back,
every kiss is a warm sip of love,
every embrace, a blanket on a cold night.

When my heart yearns and burns,
you're there to quench the fire.
When my mind wanders and aches,
you're there like a soothing choir.
I can't help but find myself helplessly falling,
entangled in my emotions, I'm silently crawling,
and when I leave you, I find myself stalling,
because I need you,
because I love you.

heavy breathing and anxious touches and extreme tenderness is what brought me close to you.
the way you smile like you've seen my soul gives me a desire to curl up inside your chest. i bet its warm in there.
because your words are comforting and your hands are soft. but they aren't for me. you aren't for me.
i think our hearts were made out of the same stars. do you feel that? do you understand?
look at me like im a soul and not just a body
The first time you kissed me, flowers bloomed;
From my heart unfurling, lilies, roses, fragile
things, so gentle and so new, so sickly
sweet, they clogged my veins with
scent, and wrapped their vines
around my heart.  I still feel
them now, slowly wilting
away to nothing, slowly
dying and decaying,
these little buds
of something
gone.

Like the waves in the ocean
That meet the shores and fade away
So did you, with my life
Every single day

Like the snowflakes in winter
That melt when they land
So did your trust
Each time you held my hand

Like the sand in the desert
Once here, then scattered
So were your promises
Leaving my heart shattered

Like a ghost in the darkness
One sees but is unreal
So were your words
And the things you made me feel

Like the glow of a firefly
Now gone, now bright
So is your love
Goodbye, good night
Goodbye, good night
You made me feel unwanted
by all the things you did not say,
a simple goodnight, how was your day?
sometimes silence can break one down. say something!!!!!
One by one you’ve shown me,
The demons, of your mind,
Scars that they’ve left you,
And past specters hanging by.

You point to them and shudder,
Hug yourself and cry,
To quickly wipe away the tears,
To take my hand, and bring me, anywhere but here.

Through grey waste and hell-scape peaks,
To quaint and pretty things,
Shiny baubles in a broken land,
To stare at, and lock the mind away.

You stare downwards at the Earth,
Turning something in your hand,
I reach out and brush your face,
You glance up, by God, those brilliant eyes.

I take your chin and guide it up,
Too long you’ve viewed the floor,
Now gaze upon endless, starry night,
Look up, twinkling, hope is there.

Under gleaming angel night,
Darkness dares not tread,
Here your inner true self glows,
And your beauty ethereal, sublime.

Still I hold you close to me,
For fear lingers in the mind,
But, as ever, I gesture to the sky,
Watch with me, soon shall be, the glorious sunrise.
I wrote this poem for Satyn Steffes, in the hope it would put a smile on her face and remind her that things have a way of working out in the end . She asked me to post it, so here it is.
