the feeling cleansed part I like
those tears
though they
hurt
and the things that lead up to  blood red
eyes
tears down to your chin
and those breathless deep sobs
where you can't catch a breath
thrash out
hide your head under pillows
they are the worst kind
they make me cry in and of theirself
which adds to the depth and hurt
of why I am crying
in the first place
but the cleanse when it stops
I swear I see rainbows

Listening to
a cacophony
of sounds

joyful
symphonies

warm sweet air

late bloomers arriving
others on the bye

bees and butterflies
at home
harmoniously

drifters
faded leaves
wafting
gently

just for a moment
a quiet
stillness

nature smiles

all sweetness
and peace.

magic.

when I was a boy
there was magic
when I was a boy
we were wizards.

the pow'r in our fingers
to build and destroy
fearless hearts
able to experience pure joy.

no darkness no pain
no sorrow no hate
no problem too big
that spells couldn't fix.

our magic distinct
like personalities unique
but they belonged to us
it’s what made us tick.

as age caught up
and minds ‘matured’
we decided to leave
a new narrative we weaved.

now don’t get me wrong
it was not our intent
it crept up so slowly
eating at our bodies.

engrossed with our work
caught up in our lives
we forgot to take
a moment to dream.

before long
the people around me lost hope
they could not
find a way to cope.

“Look for the magic!” I said, “Grow up, magic was fake, it can’t help me” they replied.

I pleaded with them
I said you must try
but it was no use
they had closed their eyes.

the feeling of joy
the wonder of flight
to have no fear
to soar to great heights.

given away
disposed like a toy
the thing they say
separates man from boy.

hope, joy
fun, innocence
friends, trust
peace, self-confidence

imagination.

these are some names
of the magic we lost
but was it really
worth the cost?

my friend it’s ok
if you find you forget
it isn’t too late
to bring it all back.

so what is your spell
the stuff in your dreams
are you willing to find it
though hard it may seem?

Sometimes
In healing ourselves
We end up
Making ourselves stronger
Than before
I've been ill for a week now and today, as I was practising singing, I realized that my voice had in fact opened/cleared up more than ever before - all because I have been using all sorts of home remedies to cure a bad throat.

I realize that this is actually true even for something as serious as depression. Having experienced it first hand, it's easy today, for me to say that fighting depression only makes you stronger than ever! Of course, if you don't give up. If you're reading this, and resonate with even one word here, please don't give up on a good fight. It may seem impossible from where you stand but even if for a moment, you could believe this, know that light does exist and it is waiting as eagerly to be found by you as you are to discover it.

Good wishes and energy,
A fellow human

Cow dung
She hung
Between her legs

Dry leaves
She'd weave
Into disposable wear

Even second hand sanitization
Was considered better condition
So she ducked into the safety of unknown risks

Absorb, if it could
Wear it she would
No space for concerns, no choice

On one hand they say
Empowered today, we women, stay
On the other, stands she, in rural patches of ignorance
It's sad to know that even today, as what not happens in the name of "feminism", there are still women in my country who cannot even afford sanitary napkins, let alone clothes. As a result, many rural women use substitutes, but it's heartbreaking to see the extent they would bend to, only because they cannot afford anything more.

Yet, I feel just as proud as I am angered by the story of such people (vs the wasteful lives of the 'haves'...a gap that huge is unfair!) -
proud because of people like Anshu Gupta (founder of Goonj, a not-for-profit organisation), who, along with his team is working towards changing this scenario with the distribution of biodegradable and affordable sanitary napkins, amongst other commendable initiatives.

This is not a collaboration or anything of that sort, neither am I associated with them in any way (other than supporting their causes), I am genuinely touched by their efforts and naturally, feel like spreading the word about their work. It would be great if you too could have a look at their website (goonj.org), and if you're convinced, monetarily or non-monetarily, support their cause?

There is
The right side
There is
The wrong side

There is
Your side
There is
My side

Some where
  Residing between
The two
is
The TRUTH
Do you ever get caught in the middle between two friends and they both want you to take their side
