HOPE
I saw her face
On a broken mirror
Clothed with a smile
Yet fragmented as the reflection

The irony of a life unshackled -
seemingly an advocate for freedom.

But only to find its beats forlorn,
as it serviced payments for past follies’

ransom.

A fire built within

We come together
we break apart

A wind that blows past
and does not return

Carnival of light
moving colors
in the overcurrent

Where is heaven above?

You'll only hear
the hummingbird
skyward bound

Before finally combusting
somewhere in
the upper atmosphere

The resulting cloud
is probably still up there
— more proof that it pays
to shoot for the stars

Moonbeam-kissed eyes
Caress the shimmering night sky
Heaven-sent for eternity

Clad in silver-grey
Aglow in purest starlight
The hour of the Elves!

I wrote these some time apart but they seem to fit together.

Raisin-hued sunsets
Delicious, addictive and fleeting
Cherish the moment!

Seasonal greetings one and all!
Another stab at a haiku. Hope I haven't broken too many rules!

Watching autumn leaves
fall gently
from a poetry tree
I smile catching the one
that spoke your name
Shine..
Shine like the morning sun
Shine like the dazzling meadows
Shine like the autumn catkin
Shine like the spring Delonix regia
Shine like the evening star
Shine like the full moon
Shine…
