god is
one

but we worship
a black box
in mecca

god is
one

but we think
you deserve
to die

god is
one

but we worship
a black box
in mecca

i choose a
veil for i'm
a willing slave

we cry just like
you & i

god is
one

but we worship
a black box
in mecca

you
pierce the
wrong veil

but we are not
people behind

the cries of
my brothers
silenced

god is
one

but we worship
a black box
in mecca

you laugh at
a tongue twisted
around your words

but ours still
sound crass
on yours

god is
one

but we worship
a black box
in mecca

she was a person
not your honour
your pride
she begged you not to
but you burned her alive
there were tears in her eyes
when you snuffed her life out
and you sold your soul
when her light flickered out
her fear will be yours
on the day that you stand
a sinner before his Lord
she was a human
never yours to sacrifice
so cursed be your honour
and hollow be your pride
there is no honour in killing.

find my
lover

suddenly my heart
is torn asunder

every night this
dream

playing heartstrings
like a harp

what was
ink

now set
in stone

on wings of
unrequited love

she flies to the
left

and straight on
until morning

let me paint this picture
let me put it straight

his eyes closed for the last time

she lingers but a moment
her fingers on his cheek

his lips are ashen grey
the smile from before now so far away

he carried his flag with pride

his standard flew so high
but they shot him in his street

his martyred soul with the god he loved
his mother left praying over his shell

a nation chained
a voice lost

mothers left broken children left crying
a clan, a nation, a blood that is dying
no intent to support terrorism. this is a poem about the unjust occupation of palestine.

Tribute to the fallen
Guardians of the union

Accolade to the warriors
Combatants sworn

Standing straight
Before their Lord

Eulogy to the brave
Salvo of respect

Applause to the Eagles
Conscripts of the sky

Medal of the departed
Proud on their shoulders

Offering to our cadaverous
Salute to our gone brethren

Gone, not forgotten
We think them dead

We perceive them not
Living are they,
in their love of the Lord
A tribute to my army

out of the ashes and into the sky
from the depths of deception a hero shall rise

wings once torn now flying high
once torn by the world's weight

hope lost, again found

burned by the flames
scorched by the sun

a voice speaking of what is to come

green
the colour of freedom
a whispered memory
a mother's touch

red
the colour of blood
needlessly spilled
a river in the streets

grey
the colour of despair
but a remnant
of the candle's flame

death
a colour of...
it must be a colour
the pallor painting the father's-

green
it seems lost
among heartache, loss
will the memory ever fade?

blue
the sky under which children play
will they again?
for the sky is grey

green*
the mother's nation
birthed of strife, breach
shining through
