I do not fear the usual

Like monsters under my bed

Or flying in a plane

What makes my palms sweat

And my heart thrum

And my body shake
Instead, is quite small

And most don’t understand

The fear it causes
Knocking on a stranger’s door

Asking customer service for help

Or making a phone call

Answering a question wrong

Picking up a prescription

And ordering fast food
Simple tasks that anyone can do

That should be easy

Make me squirm
Anxiety doesn’t choose obvious fears

That other people will understand

And help me with

Anxiety chooses the little things

That no one will really get

And maybe they’ll think it’s weird

So I’m left standing all alone

In a grocery store or super market

Terrified out of my mind
living the life with social anxiety

do not tell me that my sickness is fake
because I know all too well
how it feels to be
bound in chains only I can feel
with a terror only I can sense
vines around my throat
muffling my cries
and gasping for breath with plenty of air around
lol another bad poem another day

Run & Hide

Run, hide, cover your eyes,
Won't you play the game?
One, two, three, four,
Don't you try to peek.

Listen hard, in the dark,
Five, six, seven,
Listen for the screams of fear,
The rumbling of the earth.

Feel the world crashing down,
Eight, nine, and ten,
The concrete crumbling into dust,
The crushing of the bones.

Breathe it in, breathe it clear,
Eleven, twelve, thirteen,
The smell of fire and smoldering embers,
Dangerously near.

Open your mouth, let it free,
Fourteen, fifteen, sixteen,
Let the shrieks of pain and sadness,
Rip away from your throat.

Don't uncover your eyes,
Keep your hands over your face,
*"It will protect you my dear,
From the anxiety and the fear."

Along the field as we came by
A year ago, my love and I,
The aspen over stile and stone
Was talking to itself alone.
"Oh who are these that kiss and pass?
A country lover and his lass;
Two lovers looking to be wed;
And time shall put them both to bed,
And he beside another love."

And sure enough beneath the tree
There walks another love with me,
And overhead the aspen heaves
Its rainy-sounding silver leaves;
And I spell nothing in their stir,
But now perhaps they speak to her,
And plain for her to understand
They talk about a time at hand
When I shall sleep with clover clad,
And she beside another lad.

She came to him like a special angel from heaven
He had lost all faith, he was on his life number 7

She found a crack in his hardened armor
He was in disbelief, it was to his honor

They found themselves to be compatible
But his social graces where unconventional

Her beauty and wisdom sailed the seven seas
He never went beyond the forest and the trees

This Special lady tugged and pulled at his heart string
Witch made the melody of his soul dance and sing

She even stirred his passion with a big tight huggy
A thousand stinging bees filling his heart with honey

Her deep soulful eyes put a spell and made him pray
He just couldn’t stop thinking of her night and day
Putting him in a trance, not knowing what to say

This fine lady was in a class that has all that
This poor lad could only offer poems and a chat

The princess in this story was moving fearless and fast
He feared with his lack of nobility, the dream would not last

She drives, flies, floats, plays and stays first class
He always seems to be in a long line, to be the last

The feeling she gave him will forever in his heart last
He feels sad the best he has to offer, is all lost in the past
Dark mystery still surrounds this girl that likes white and black
He’ll try and sweep her off her feet with gifts of vanilla and lilac

Her biggest dream has to do with innocent smell, theses are facts
He hopes she’ll forgive him for all the thing that he poorly lacks.....
