Here, In the brightening forest,
only the fleeting stars can see me

The newborn air I breathe
bathes me in safety and I

Bloom, forget, and
ebb into meditation.

oh look
a deer;

maybe if i'm quiet

Dorothy Parker
Oh, I can smile for you, and tilt my head,
And drink your rushing words with eager lips,
And paint my mouth for you a fragrant red,
And trace your brows with tutored finger-tips.
When you rehearse your list of loves to me,
Oh, I can laugh and marvel, rapturous-eyed.
And you laugh back, nor can you ever see
The thousand little deaths my heart has died.
And you believe, so well I know my part,
That I am gay as morning, light as snow,
And all the straining things within my heart
You'll never know.

Oh, I can laugh and listen, when we meet,
And you bring tales of fresh adventurings, --
Of ladies delicately indiscreet,
Of lingering hands, and gently whispered things.
And you are pleased with me, and strive anew
To sing me sagas of your late delights.
Thus do you want me -- marveling, gay, and true,
Nor do you see my staring eyes of nights.
And when, in search of novelty, you stray,
Oh, I can kiss you blithely as you go ....
And what goes on, my love, while you're away,
You'll never know.

These many years, I've felt aloof,
Though I've never lacked a roof.
My roots, cast down, refuse to hold.
They find the solid dead and cold.
So while I always have a house,
And heap praise on it with my mouth,
My heart's not there.  It's off, alone.
I am a man without a home.

The sun rose sideways over
Trees so full of birds I'd thought they'd
Taken the place of any
Real branches. The song came quiet,
Making conquest of our opened ears,
And ******, if it all wasn't gorgeous.

The Jazz in it hummed loudly,
Asking whence the shakes began.
She screamed in an ear to
Inquire about the fun she's having.
Stuck staring in a rear view,
With hope they're unaware of
Locked doors.

Green-garnished, gold-rimmed eyes, and a
Brandished black mask, blocking the brightness,
But also the bad intentions.
Let 'em know where you come from,
And they'll use it against you.
Let them see where you're going: then,
They run for the hills.

"What's a vice worth, if you
Don't nourish it?"
                                                                              What's a number, but an
                                                                              Excuse, or a limit?

"See, there's a countable
Amount of stuff, in this universe, but we're
Still unsure of what we're
Doing in life."

Gasping at the light's
Bounce off foreign plants.
Recollections of strengthened bonds,
Pressing heavy, into wet dirt
Of a previous day's rain. Fearing
Faith in what you can't understand.
Working for the worst people in the world.
But because, you must
Help, to exist.

But break the bubble,
Roll back those shoulders, tuck those wings
Maybe get the **** out of the car?
"I'm getting there, ******."
Thanks for making me happy, guys. "Angel" getting featured almost made me cry. This one is about my recent life. Sometimes you just need to recalibrate.

There's more
wine
in the glass than
ink
in the
pen.

A truly conflicted
narcissist
upon
obscured
reflection.

Beauty.
Skin deep?
I'll carve
manifestos
in
flesh
when the wells run
dry.

Trace each
scar
with
shaking
fingertips and
blind
eyes.

Last knock at seven pm,
if I'm taking too long just tell me when.

Holy honey that melts in your mouth,
you'll only find that kind down south.

Tongue in my cheek, lungs filled with the view,
I've been talking to blurred visions of you.

And I'm stuck with the ugliest luck.
And I could fall...

but then I feel your grip tighten up.

I wish I knew what went wrong.
If there could be a switch-
if I could hit it-
turn everything upside down.
Shake the rain from my sandals,
if you light a candle
I can handle the rest!

See I thought it was me
but it's the world that's
been spinnin' around

and around

and around

and around.

You can use my chest to hear the ocean.
Swim in my veins and I will sail your eyes.
The earth is our canvas as we remember our trees' growing;
Like leaves embraced by wind, we are whisked to the skies.
The joining of lips will stop Time's grip,
Because he decides: "I shall take them never;
Forever paired." Impossibly split, even if
Fates river were to drown our endeavors.
I would fight the harsh rapids, aided by my will
To have your soul again within my grasp.
Death before failure; I would cry a horrid shrill
If another won you with his beautiful mask.
All above is a fiction often recited
By my thoughts to my soul, so lonesomely reminded.
