You come and you go,
repetitive dream motions
driving a picture of
your face
into my little mouse heart.

Apparition of sleepless nights,
you smile- drop your bags
on my bedroom floor.
I nursed your broken bones
and kissed your fingertips,
crushing the passage of
time in my small hands
like so many impatiens.

And then came the storm clouds,
and you traveling north-
leaving no trace
of what once was;

only memories
like ashes
dissolving
in the rain.

Happiness** is too scary for us to accept,
That's why we choose to remember the sad things
rather than the happy ones,
But when we do,
It's too late.

I feel like I am one of those sad songs
nobody wants to hear at a party
because they wake up memories,
open wounds,
make you bleed inside
And because in a few moments they ****
Everything that’s left of you.

Because they hurt.

Shall we through this tall grass run, children
heed the urgency of crickets this early morning,
outrun meandering trodden trails we'd make?

or await to pack our baskets
with late summer peaches picked
after sun shakes dew from waning leaves of her laden tree

life is measured in those quick steps
the insects said,
scattering ashes of the dead never teaches them to fly

much as we might try, but we might yet
they know winter's shadow always too soon arrives,
an uninvited guest in this meadow

Collections
Most of us follow some
Are members or editors of others
Some are used in the spirit of poetry
While others are abused in equal measure
I for one would never post one of my own poems
To A Notch Above The Daily Fluff
That is for my peers to decide, not me
Poets Corner Collected Poems
Is a brand new collection and as usual all are welcome
To follow
Please only post appropriately to this collection
Collections are here for you to use
Collections shouldn't be abused
I am the first light
Dancing on petals,
The only flower
Left last in fields,
I am the cloudburst
That drops from sky,
I am the cleansing,
The earthly scent
After sweet rains,
I am the vast ocean,
Rocking earths cradle
Sunlight singing, dancing
Atop the sparkling waves.

I am the white bird
Who sails in the blue,
Join me in the light,
In sky, so much room,
Circle with me, above
The sea, race with me
Into the long night trails
Of the shining moon.

the beast

Shrouded in Liberty
it moves across the land
gorging on the hearts
and faith of
small ones;
they whose homes
invaded by the cause,
depleted of life,
of love,
of choice,
find protection
a misnomer.
Buried deep in details
of little consequence
where minutia
is a governor
stealing choice
to feed the appetite
of this machine.
Where has gone
the mighty power
that once united all;
will Freedom
end this war
before a mighty fall?
Bring back the ghosts
that won it well
the proud, the free and brave;
their spirits needed in our own
to lead us from our grave.
Apathy would bury us,
cloaked in ignorance of bliss
while shrouded in Liberty
the beast deceives;
No army advancing
but what we're sold,
driving back the small ones
step by step;
the edge of a grave
ready for us to slip
into darkness.
Our liberties are being taken away.  Keep your eyes open.
