I never knew
that I would have to cut out
parts of my life to be free
the operation was long in anticipation
these ******* of mine were never mine
a literal weight off of my chest
is top surgery
now my life begins
and I can be me
Not only for ftm transgender people do we have to learn the lesson of letting go and cutting out parts of our past.

don't gain weight, they say
do you want to look like a pig?
but it's ugly if you're too skinny,
no ***** and no ***, what are you so proud of?

society's standards, everchanging and everflowing
from the desireableness of being just bone and skin to having ******* and an ***
our society that can't decide what it wants
our society that thinks it can control what is perfect

perhaps i shouldn't conform to society's standards after all

There are people who can sing

and

There are people who sing

There are people who can rap

and

There are people who rap

There are people who can dance

and

there are people who dance

There are people who can write

and

there are people who write

The difference is that with ones who 'can' are
usually the ones you bob your head
to as well as acknowledge.

But with the ones who just do what they do?
There are the ones who touch your soul.
Everyone is different, of course. I do listen to people who can sing, but I usually listen to the ones who do what they do. They are the ones who have that power to touch your very soul with what they do. Those people who do what they do have an aura of pure light...
Appreciate them.
Be back soon!

I live here within the lives that do not belong to me.
Here is where I turn a page and find all your mysteries.
You share with us your poetry;
We raft on treasured wordy seas.

I speak with water,
Because I'd seen it so.
I'm soaking wet with wonderment,
Caught up in rhythmic flow.

We profess our admiration,
We counsel our critique,
We remember the lines you crafted,
As we get ourselves through the week.

Please, give us your inspiration;
We strive on borrowed phrases.
Please, continue writing.
We leave you with our praises.
I am trying to experiment more and more with different poem structures and themes. I felt compelled to write this after scrolling through the front page.

I don't know if anyone else really feels this way, but I love reading through profiles/the front page and getting inspired of lines, themes or phrases they use.

I used to dream of someone like you
To hold me tight and see me through
To love my eyes and love my smile
And when I'm scared stay with me a while
But now I've got you I don’t know what to do
It's amazing this feeling I have for you
When I look at you my heart melts to the floor
Everyday I love you more and more
When life gets me down your always there
A good heart like yours is very rare
You’re my world you’re my universe my star
I would never change a thing that you are
All my worries and problems disappear
When you hold me in your arms I have no fear
The only fear I have that’s true
Is living my life without someone like you
I literally love you so **** much

Embrace who you are
and you'll go far
don't live in fear
for then you won't
see the world clear

You think you aren't good enough
when loving yourself proves you're strong and tough
You critique your flaws
instead of being part of a bigger cause

We need to love ourselves
It's good to be different
not like everyone else

Embrace yourself
Kinda took awhile but I think I finally like myself
