The Admirer
The unkown is ghastly  for some
for those who do not clearly see
that it's a beauty to be discovered

Loving them can be complicated for some
because everything they do is unpredictable
but you'll have never felt such things before

they see the world around them in such ways
we can only imagine to do so ourselves
and they never lie when they say  i love you

alas they are separated from others
as they are seen in as a peculiar thing
because the idea of them is terrifying

The Admirer
It's over now, all of it
The nights spent on my bed lying
With all that heartbreak all that crying
I have finally ended all that ****

My heart is now free from our past
And at first trying to do so was so hard
But i had to dig myself out of that graveyard
Of pain and regrets that i thought would last

You never were the right guy for me
I tried so hard to believe that you were the one
After a while, i knew that nothing could be done
I realised i wanted something that you could never be

*I loved you very much so
but now it is time to let you go
goodbye..

Homunculus
That awkward moment
When you try to have faith
In the prospect of a corrupt government
Being reformed from within the boundaries
Of its own parameters, but then remember
That the institutional structures of said government
Were set up from the very beginning
To ensure the hegemony of the propertied classes
Over the lowly workers and
To hinder the development of
Popular democratic
Movements from below.*

Lo!

             the city streets
                           are alive

                                       the cacophony of car horns
                                              clamors in the distance

                       the velvet
                                 night's
                                         embrace
                                               envelops me

                              the
                    flowering light,
                                 of the moon
                                                                             beckons
                                                                             in radiant parlance
                                           over the horizon

                                                     and my
                                           mind               abides

                                                         in

                                                    tranquil

                                                    stillness.

Homunculus
These swine you elected
Will starve your sick parents
And ******* your children with debt,
They'll torture and ******
Pillage and plunder,
Cheat and steal,
Lie and conspire, and
All in the name
Of a tenuous 'freedom'
But you don't care,
Because your flag
Is bigger than
Your conscience,
And your **** is longer
Than your attention span.
You drank the Kool-Aid and
Bought the snake oil, and
Now, you can't be wrong,
Reason eludes any attempt
To persuade you.
You make me sick,
You complacent *******.
I've got no more patience
To waste on you.
******* and everyone
Who looks like you.
I'm trying to be succinct here, but revision and amendment keep happening. What can I say? I'm angry. Godwin's law aside, the new cabinet is literally  filled with Neo-Nazis, oil and finance lobbyists, creationists, and science deniers. We're ****** because these morons voted out of a sense of misplaced aggression instead of with informed reason. America is ******* over.
As you gazed across the room,
My eyes caught your lingering stare,
To a woman who was not me,
Both not seeing, unaware.

Like a giddy school boy, I watched,
As she asked about your day,
Standing in disbelief,
Sensing this was wrong in every way.

My stomach hit the floor that day,
Followed closely by my heart,
Sadly not realizing,
This was only just the start.

Never enough, too much,
Imperfect in every way,
Wanting to run, scream, hide,
Like a coward, I choose only to stay.

Birthdays uncelebrated,
No tinsel on the tree,
This union isn't working,
The fault is always me.

Lousy cook, deplorable housekeeper,
No tiger in bed,
Tears stream down my face,
From words uttered & ones left unsaid.

Listen up 'gentle' men,
This shouldn't come as a surprise,
The true beauty of a woman,
Does not in fact lie between her thighs.

Love her laugh, her heart,
her smile,
Value these things,
& she may just stay awhile.

Don't win her over with baubles & bling,
court her with fancy dinners,
These mean nothing.

Write her a poem,
Leave her a letter,
These are the honey, gold, & nectar.

Moments shared, hands held,
A warm hug, a gentle touch,
These are the things of true value,
These are the things we all want so much.

Forgive me if my honesty
Isn't quite on trend,
But truth be told, what this world need more of,
Isn't lovers,
But ride or die friends.
They call me 'fake',
Apparently too genuine for the masses to believe,
They grasp at any weapon,
To muddy the waters & deceive,

The Bible speaks of money,
And the lust it can incite,
They claw, destroy, froth at the mouth,
Morning, noon, & night.

How sad they cannot see,
More beauty in a single feather, fallen leaf upon the ground,
Simple treasures God created,
Worth more than any gemstone to be found.

Botox, fake *****, make-up by the gallon,
Ken & Barbie look-a-likes,
No thanks,
I'll take Marilyn & Jimmy Fallon.

Give me laugh lines, stories shared,
Later round a campfire, retold,
Calloused hands, scars, crevices,
Like vintage books,
Weather-worn, faded, old.

Nothing did we bring with us,
Nothing will we take,
Except our memories, cherished moments,
God's love, His promise,
His children, He will not forsake.

I'm just a simple artist,
Girl next door, no frills or bling,
Time, thoughtfulness, care, will win me over,
Surely not any earthly thing.

Point your fingers,
Kick dirt in my eyes,
The light within will stream through,
Despite all your vicious lies.

God is with me,
Whom shall I fear?
In time, He'll right all the wrongs,
I am his daughter,
Held precious, close, & dear.

The darkness came only to destroy,
But the light will forever prevail,
Jesus extends His hand upon a ship of gold,
Step on,
A new life...set sail.
What lesson do our children learn
when watching children
****** children in their classrooms
what value do we give their education
when seperating best friends forever
by filling one heart with grief
and putting the other one in its early grave
what child needs to know
the weight and velocity
of the bullets that tore
their once safe world apart

how many tears will it take
to drown out the greed
that allows the trigger of the gun
to be in such an easy place to reach
and the moment of silence has had its turn
and though it may have brought
some small comfort
it did not take the pain away

now we must raise our voices
for the dead
we must raise our voices
for those who have not yet died
we must raise our voices
and we must be loud
louder than the money exchanging hands
louder than the bullets and the bangs
and louder than the rat-a-tat-tat
machine guns song

its more than a matter of safety or control
its the value of the education
we too often forget
forget to teach
forget to remember
forget to live by
the education of kindness
the value of generosity
the need of empathy
the lesson and the gift of love

that we are all the same
no matter our birthplace
no matter what flag we sleep under
no matter what name we whisper
when we offer our prayers
and our hopes
we are all the same
we all live in the same house
no matter how many walls divide us
no matter the mountains between us
no matter the oceans that separate us

we are all in one house
and we are all connected
by the one thing
the only thing
we need to both give
and to receive
the lesson and the gift of love

let us teach this first
before anything else
because without it
the education we give our children
will continue to be washed away
with the lives of all the children
that we fail to save

Everytime I hit the front page
I am saddened by the tortured souls
Who populate its halls

I will not write sad poetry
I will endeavor to brighten these corridors
Feel free to join me.
Seriously though. It’s depressing people.
