Misplaced Texan
She can be your sunshine, or leave you standing in the rain.
If she leaves you out there, she won't have much to gain.
She can say she is sorry in a million different ways,
She can be your sunshine or leave you standing in the rain.
She hopes that you can hear her, as she whispers very slow.
"I really do love you and don't want to let you go."
She wants to be your sunshine, to hide you from the rain.
No matter where you go, she wants to kiss away your pain.
She didn't mean to hurt you. She doesn't want to lie,
It feels like all she can do now is just lay down and die.
Will you be her sunshine or leave her standing in the rain?
Remember it's your choice on what you lose as well as what you gain
"I could say I lied because I love you, but I don't think you'd believe it."

A poem sent to me after I sent one to her.

there are a lot of people in the world that you don't need
and that don't need you
but i have never been good at figuring out who those people are.
i let all of them stay
and pull me, drag me, **** me
back and forth and up and down until suddenly
they are telling me they love me
and i am saying it back
because there's nothing else that can be done.

my head and my heart know that i don't truly love them like they love me
and that in the end i will stop replying to messages
and make up excuses for months
and months
and months
until they just stop trying
and that i will end up hurting them more by allowing them to love me and then leaving
but i cannot close myself off to them.
i have declared myself public property
everyone gets a piece of me
to place their country's flag
divide me up like a chocolate bar
eat me in one melted bite.

i wonder when there will be nothing left
to give.

I love the summer, I love the warm wind.
I love the smell of the barbeque,
and grabbing a cold beer from the ice filled bin.

Laying in the hammock with a few good books,
While the sun shines on me, helping me tan my looks.
The swimming pool is ice cold on a hot summers day.
The soothing feel of the water helps take the stress away.

Hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, and cola;
This American night cannot get any better.
Family and friends, sharing endless laughs,
Having too much fun, as the time starts to quickly pass.

Ending the night with a late night bonfire,
Watching the smoke rise hire and hire.
Finishing off with magical, jaw dropping fireworks.
Gazing in the sky with amazement, this is life's best perk.
Positive poem today!

you promised you would always be there but now it is three am a year later and you are no where to be found
I guess you lied or maybe you never were
a short scream poem written two years ago... still pondering my thoughts.

The lips I kissed tonight,
didn't taste like you.
And the cotton shirt that I
clung to didn't smell like you.
So I kissed him harder and
pulled him closer,
pushing you deeper into my
memories, always trying
to forget that
my lips,
and my arms,
weren't enough for you either.
Old but accurate.

Money hungry
Describes our world
We destroy and harm
(Ourselves and the earth)
For pieces of paper
It's repulsive
A waste of human labor
We're meant to live
Not to sit at a desk
People forget there's more than this
9 to 5, working over time
Everyone's eyes looking beyond tired
Losing communication with one another
I'll smile and wave
Nowadays most people don't even bother
Kindness is embedded in me
Where did it go
Life is supposed to be so much more beautiful
