The glint in your eyes
When I cupped your moons
Was only a prelude
To the gravitational pull
Between two heavenly bodies
Finally untethered
From the chains
Of solitary confinement

It  seems  crazy  sometimes,
just  trying  to  stay  positive
or  maybe  I  have  reached  my
limit of pretending to be normal.

Eating cereal with a fork since
the late 70's, a ragged collection
of wild ghosts that offend Heaven
with wanton paganism.

Looking for a peaceful place to
scream in terror at the realization
so many years are gone, going so
fast and I can't get them back.

I am old and gray and bald, and
walk with a cane. blinking my eyes
again and I am a great grandfather.

And I recall so many loves that
didn't last, that came and went
like a hummingbird feeding and
gone, some of them with insatiable
depths  that  needed  to  be  fed.

Some with hungers for the wailing
of tortured flesh,roaring whispers of
the men they'd swallowed.

But I know she is still out there
waiting for me to appear.                                         Jon York    2021

dripping drops of
colored lollipops, in banana,
cherry, apple and grape. Crinkled
as a crepe, swirling on

the bottom as the leaves
in autumn. None cannot turn their head
to the plop, plop, plop. Dancing, glimmering
beads bop sticking to the surface. I’m a

circus show in monotone. This is
my home. I’m thrown together as
the clouds. But underneath soft
as down. High on the mountain

of my pain, I’ll gush out as
a waterfall in the rain. Men, woman
and children can swim in my tears,
bathe in my sweat and bask in my fears.

He had been deafeningly silent since birth. His worried parents had given up hope that he would ever speak. But when the enlightened Guru asked him "who are you?" Finally, he opened his mouth and unhesitatingly said, "I am the eternal silent spirit".

Desolate
Unyielding notes
Accumulate
Silhouetting umbra
Breaking through
Architectural shadow
Flickers of bloom & bounty
From a sleeping
Satiated bride
Reposed upon
The chaise longue
Softly interlacing
The accidentals
With a final grace note
Before absolute stillness
Reprises

What does it take,
to be free
I don't know you tell me
I vowed never,
to tolerate,
lackadaisical  conduct,
that leaves you stuck
Brings you down
that is not happy,
that is a frown
Round, and round
Finding yourself,
that is the crown
A large jewel,
just there for you
Look at its beauty
It should be seen,
not tucked away,
just like a dream
I found me
I want to enjoy,
me you see
No derogatory context
or manipulation,
swamped text,
full of steps,
that stops me,
climbing you see
Afraid of heights,
but I have always,
scaled buildings,
to see the sights,
no matter what,
came across the path,
that was not right,
and, left a draft
Holding me back,
even though one pretends,
no more verbal attack
Spending a Quarter,
of a Century of life,
good will, and beauty,
trampled like ground spice
Updated dice
Then a fairy story offered,
wrongly priced,
it was verbal regurgitation,
described as being nice
So I will stay
with the me I found
Climbing higher,
than any mound
Or pile of c...

guy scutellaro
when 2 birds standing on
2 different high tension wires kiss
love is short.

You wanted me to tattoo your name on my back.
"but who would see?" I asked.
"you just don't get," you screamed,
"you don't ever get it."
and you smashed a glass
on the worn rug.

It was a velvet rug
with a picture of elvis
painted across it
meant to be hung on the wall
and when the wind
parted the curtains
the shards sparkled like stars.

They say the human heart
weighs 3/4's of a pound
and scientists have found
in a tomb in Egypt
the heart of Cleopatra
shriveled like leather.
bitterness
can preserve a heart for eternity....

....but it's closing time at the bar
and outside in the cold, cold snow
outside in the snow
my darling
one last time
I'll **** your name.

Ah, this spring-
Your sweet scent touches
my little heart
and I wanna hear more
sounds of your feet.
Your shyness
and silent love
make my soul fly.

I dance,
and smile inside me
with your humming song.
Why do you look at me
with your smiling face?
After seeing your lovely eyes
I also draw a dream
on my mind.

Do you chuckle like this?
Or do you love me, miss?
Could you tell me, please!
The shine of your beauty
will make me mad at you;
So, will you talk to me?
Will you walk with me-
rest of your life?
