Press me against you
Like flowers in a book

tears drop from a thousand eyes
and wash the sidewalks clean
of filth
of blood
of desperate cries
gone silent with the dream
darkness lights the alleyways
where life is cheap as rust
needles lay in greasy puddles
rats feed on the crust
deeper we fall
into nightmares awoken
speak not of this if you live in the light
there are tears enough for that which is broken
just close your eyes
and sleep at night

More Love
At dawn
I watched you
Climb into bed beside me

Half awake, I was
And half-lit was the room
From the half-lit sky
Of early morning

And the dawn shadows
Drew across you
And I caught your appearance–
Your beard and your body
Your features and gestures

Getting into bed with me.

I layed there still
As the twilight crept
Slowly over us

Astonished at you
Beside me

As dawn and morning
Cradled us both
Back to sleep
And brought us into
Another day
Together.

It strikes, not with a gale,
but with a drizzle of cherry blossoms
and a flurry of gentle chords.

This hell that consumes me
Gets the best of me
What have I done to put up with this suffering
Months of depression
And then light shines bright
Welcome to the manic world voices said
There is no exit
From this cycle
It is like being buried alive
Crying and screaming
Laughing and running all over the world

coercion is not only the absence of “no.”

it is also the “yes” that is given when the option of “no” is stripped away.

please don’t forget that your “yes” was not a “moment of weakness” or a “sin you have to repent for”

you said “yes” because “no” wasn’t an option. and that’s not really saying “yes” at all.

Swinging and singing to the moon
I began to think about life and wonder what I should do.
I'm no artist but I can see these images in my brain
A rough sketch I'm about to frame
I don't want to be caught capturing the same thing
I can talk to you all night, I've got nothing but time
These images gave me insomnia, a scribble here to fix some of  my flaws
I still manage to grip onto these chains for dear life
I swing and kick my legs up to the moonlight

I love how the stars in the sky try to imitate the freckles on your skin because the night sky is the only thing that can even come close to matching your beauty

where once anxiety bites
now numbness devours.
watching people take their fill
while i eat out of an empty bowl.
the price of sanity it seems
is the whole soul.

you take all of the
stars in the night sky with you
whenever you leave.

Find it, it’s calling to you
In the soles of your feet
In music so sweet
In the food that you eat
In skies azure blue
Find it in love that you give
In the life that you live
It’s calling to you
In the voice of the lark
In the moon after dark
Whatever you do
Find it
In warm winds that blow
In storms and in snow
Find it
****
Never let it go

When I look at you,
I don’t see darkness
I don’t see rain
I don’t see pain

When I speak to you,
I don’t feel sadness
I don’t feel neglect
You always show respect

When I think of you,
It gives me strength
Because you’re so bright
My brightest light

When I dream of you,
I find myself in your arms
Right where I belong
Right where I feel strong

When I fell in love with you,
I knew it was true
Because you drowned my sorrows
And now I can see tomorrow
