(A letter from prison)

Like a ghost ever haunting
My presence remains
In those boxes
In your basement
Is my domain
I was once there with you
As the photos do disclose
But now I’m just a shadow
Left from years ago

I have simply been forgotten
And my ghost is no big deal
Packed away so neatly
In a box marked "Goodwill”

In the nighttime I’m a dream
The one you used to have
In the morning I’m still missing
But you’re no longer sad
To your friends I’m that secret
When the conversation’s deep
But lately I’m a whisper
That rarely makes a peep

I waited for your visit
But you never showed at all
I must have sent a dozen letters
And made a dozen calls
But I've simply been forgotten
And my ghost is no big deal
Packed away so neatly
In those boxes marked “Goodwill”

What do you call someone so free,
Someone whom I'm pretending to be

What do you call someone who doubts,
who's insecurities rise and inner fears shouts
Call me what you like
Not too sure on this one but I thought I'd post it :D

I
In the cold silence of the area
Rose a lonesome cafeteria,
Outside of it hooded forms -
Scaly horns -
Perched on white, plastic chairs
Like fifteen owls on a wire.
II
A grey-green bird in the distance
Sang a three-note song with insistence.
He sang on not to the white folks
But to the cold he tried to coax.
He sang to a spot desolate -
Sure thing, he sang to punctuate it.

The whole of stanza one is a true story. On the way to my home town, Kasserine, I did see the scene involving about fifteen hooded people sitting outside a café with their backs against the wall, apparently waiting for sunset and the cannonball that would announce the break of the fast in Ramadhan.
Stanza II (with the bird) is pure poetic invention.
Its the end I never cared to write the distance to great and still within my reach.

My road now is traveled alone and I simply check still to see if your there.

The mind is the worst prison of them all
all
My thoughts far stronger than the iron bars I view the outside world has become a stranger now.

I know my truths and see your path separate .
A man can only take so much and I have died many times only to return a little  less than what I was before.

Nothings left now tell me where we go from nowhere ?

Another midnight drive looking for what I can never find.
Old pictures captured emotions I just can't stand to bleed these lines.

Maybe it catches you when none other can see.
And the scar we bare together .
You view alone shed a tear and recall .

All I know  is my page is coming to its chapters close.

We chased many a sunset kid.

And I am left with nothing else to say.

Above all that is
Of tradition

I see the world
In dancing lights

If you would
Make this move

You would see
This dance

Is meant for you
And me

Friendships come and friendships go,
some may wither, some may grow.

Some die from a careless word
and some from rumors one has heard.

Some fail when "connections" die
and some die from a toxic lie.

But some are nurtured from the start
by "fertilizer" from the heart,

loyalty and "being there"
when others fail, when they should care.

So, as a friend I'd truly be
always listening, if you need.
For a friend that's going through a tough divorce...
7.5 billion bubbles
Floating around,

Each bubble is on a mission
Hoping that personal success
Will be found.

Each bubble has a dream,
Which is its driving force
And power,

Some bubbles suddenly burst,
Some bubbles flourish and bloom
Like a flower.

Accidents do happen
Along the way,

Some bubbles collide,
Some bubbles sadly drift away.

7.5 billion bubbles,
Floating around,

Some are successful,
Some get so lost
That they are never found.

Each bubble is fragile,
Surviving on precious oxygen,

Each bubble is a gift
From Our Merciful God
In heaven.

As we never really know the struggles
Each bubble has to endure,

It is vital and most important
That we each ensure...

That we be empathetic and kind
With every bubble that we meet,

That we remember
To offer a humble smile
Whenever a precious bubble
We should happen to greet.

rooted in a summer beat
transcendent in a teal glow
music flowing to every chakra
seeking a level all her own

fueled by half moon and zydeco
senses ignite and expand
fulfilling the mystic spaces
with binding energy of dance

auspicious light yins to shadow
frosted hues of herbal mist
retreating to a café of secrets
revealing subtly just who she is

Timelessly
Transcendent
These states of passion
A brief encounter
A natural reaction
Emotional chemicals
No ones to blame
Hard hot wiring
Shot down in flames

When I was still young
And unwilling to fall
You were but naive
Behind subdivided walls
Hidden from your passion
By overbearing arms
Believe me when I tell you
I would never do you harm

I watch you every time you enter my door,
I pretend not hear you, yes i choose to ignore.
Your perfume lingering in the air,
and your laughter swift by like wind in fall,
i would be lost in your presence, as you enter my door.

I do not capture you much in my mind,
my heart is well when you out of sight,
but...
every time you enter my door,
i forget of all i forgot about you before,
then you steal a piece of me and it
floats with your smile, and
my hearts beats like a pendulum,
as if to live by your oxygen.

I think of long nights of tee-a-tete,
under the  moonlight sky,
then you walk  home,
locking our hands as we part.
O' what joy!
when you look at me...
i see the depths of the ocean,
clear and serene, engulfing me in your tranquility.

Such feebleness i cannot comprehend,
To hope that i can hold your hand and
yet not. To hope...

Every time you enter my door,
Void of my love for you,
I wonder , if my hopes will ever come true.
