Valsa George
There was
none
to
listen
to her

Her words were like:

- A cry in the wilderness
that broke and shattered on woody trunks

- The howl of a lone wolf
that rose in the dead of the night

- The cry of an infant
that told the world, it was hungry

The cacophony of discordant orchestra
that left a jarring effect on the listeners

Her words sounded meaningless
To a world that spoke a different tongue

With no receptacle, her words like heated waters
Evanesced into vapor and billowed upward
Like coils of smoke to freeze into clouds

But one day it rained down,
Quite unexpected…….

With thunder and lightning!

Mahal na mahal kita
kahit ilang tula na naisulat ko
o ilang tala nasa langit
di sila papantay
sa pagmamahal ko sayo

*eng trans:
i love you so much
even with the number of poems i've written
or with the number of stars in heaven
they can never equate
to the love i have for you
para kay wjh / for wjh

the sun is setting.
i point my gaze to the sky
and wait for the moon.

as the moon rises,
the words in my throat do, too.
i hope you love me.

bones
They say you don't know what you have until it's gone.
But what about the people that do know?
The people that just have to sit there waiting and watching helplessly as the only thing that's keeping them from going insane is walking away from them.
Isn't it much worse for them?

I am not tired
but I am living for the moment
when I turn off the lights and cover the digital clock

my room a haven of crystal tar darkness
a sudden still
my body strangled by the heavy warmth of sheets
under which even the throbbing of my wrists- the price I pay- seems none too deep

comfort and ease
no responsibility in dreams
my breath slows and the stars explode

a butterfly kiss from Death

Until sunlight stabs my eyes wide open
sending me through the motions of another day
throughout which my soul longs for sleep

the choir sings a lullaby in a language I don't need to understand

Obsession

Love spins tangled webs
Truth sets free the unwilling
Trapping the blind ones

Psychosis

Voices unwelcome;
Torture rings through delusion-
Comfortably numb.

Helpless

The dark of sky falls
Stars struggle to shine through it
As hope does when lost

Envy

To find a sweet bird
To sing the sweetest soul song
But not to your soul

Depravity

A passion called forth
So clawed in and smothering
The light left her eyes

Apathy

Grim thoughts pull tightly
Red lines flow in a river
The last cut, deepest.

Loss

Petals of thought fall
The wind scatters emotions
To the ends of earth

Lunar
Loud and thunderous
Man-made rainbows and sounds riot
Set free far and wide

The fire's relative
A dangerous art beauty
Painted up so high

Blossoming flower
Lights up worlds and lights up lives
Fades into the sky

Electrifying
Just like the feelings we have
Between you and I
Here's a poem for New Year's Eve ! I got quite confused if I wanted a positive (beauty of fireworks) or a negative (the air pollution, and how it can hurt people and scare pets) ending. In the last stanza, all of a sudden, it turned into a romantic one

what if the
flow of
words
in
my
brain
stopped?
will you still appreciate me?

When I was young,
I was afraid of the night.
I believed it was
home to ghosts, poltergeists
and all kinds of frights.
Just the absence of light
sends shivers to my spine.

As I grew up, I've come
to love the night.
It makes me feel alive.
All of my emotions revive.
and my words drive
to self-proclaimed beauty.

But the thing that I
most appreciate,
is that this is the time
that I get to you.
The only time
I can see your smile
shine bright.
Brighter than the
gleaming moonlight.
you know it's you. :)
