THAT  OLD  HORSE

That old horse stoo at that gate for ages
Since his master passed away
Everyone was sure it'd die there
Just as it did later on one day

They buried it 20 feet away from gate
And his old dog lay for ages on that grave
They their master went everywhere together
As told to me by masters son called Dave

Strangest thing on maters birthday yearly
They's hear dogs howling in the night
Coming from where the wind came from too
Living dogs tail between legs hiding in fright

The three of them had been a team for years
On rabbit shooting trips checking fences too
The weather had changed each year the same
Folks'd say oh well more rain for sure due

A lot more to animals than most really know
Don't believe go out ask Dave you'll find it's so
That one night deadly quiet only wind will howl
And all but for a dog and maybe a horse on the prowl

Can't tell you more than a lot but I know
how it feels ..

I stand there in the night, although it’s not dark at all,
Not a single star in sight, but there is a shopping mall,
What feels like a million people rush by me so fast,
I must be invisible to them, knocking me as they go past.
Shops are lit by lights so bright up every street,
I can feel the traffic’s vibrations running up through my feet,
A warm buzz of machinery spreading through my being,
There is so much going on, I can’t believe what I am seeing.
Different lights flashing, flickering and pulsating around,
My ears are straining to try and match up each sound,
I know I’m breathing air, but I wonder how much of it is clean,
So many different types of people in this forever changing scene.
As I stand there listening to the loud commotions of the city,
I see a flock of over weight pigeons looking sick, and I feel pity,
I think back to my home and how happier the birds appeared,
Each one seemed so healthy and free, suddenly the pigeons disappeared.
My nose feels cold and frosted while my hands sit warm in my pockets,
My lips are wind struck dry as my eye ***** pasted in my sockets,
A complex stream of interesting, unfamiliar aromas fill my nose,
Quickly shifting from sweet to sour, although I have not changed my pose.
With each passing car the atmosphere will alter,
Aromata varies as the air drops from warmer to colder,
A consistent blow of wind from the icy thick night,
Pierces my eyes with tears and blurs my sight,
Cool and crisp air surges into my throat and licks my ears,
The hair on my neck suddenly feels like little spears,
Goose bumps coming and going with the breeze,
Welcome to one of the most exciting cities.

Just a few pleasant words
can make someone's day.
A compliment or smile
can impact in so many ways.

Take some time today
and throughout this week
to make someone's day
and to be kind and meek.

Go ‘head and point it at my head
You’re emptier
Than Gods you dread
The ones who show you *******
Who make you watch
The entrails spill
Until the anger
Of such crimes
Against the peace
Within the mind’s
All knowing
All beholden eyes
Before you now
Their body lies
The hero at the end
Is dead
Go ‘head and point it at my head

Once I asked
Random people
Show me your happiness

Child, showed me their SMILE
Adult, showed me their GADGETS
Mature, showed me their BANK BALANCE
Grand age, showed me their CHILDREN
Sage showed me brightness in his EYES

Happiness is dynamic
Age
Time
Understanding  based

With maturity
It changes
Temporary to Permanent
Objects to Values
Dream to Faith.

I'll try to write this in a poem
don't know if I can, we'll see

there's a book being formed
includes some folks from HP

has pictures, stories and poems
"Forever In Our Hearts" it's called

if you've wanted to be published
here's a chance, your family will be
enthralled

it's for a good cause as well you see
half of proceeds will go to rescues

of those wonderful pets who become family
who just might have inspired your muse
I'm nearly finished but realized I hadn't invited here. I've noticed some poems and requested their use, but there are probably still some gems out there. I'm close to finish and don't want to make it too expensive (it's based on number of pages) but if you message me in the next week or so your pet's tribute could be included. As noted there is an emphasis on rescues and half of the proceeds will go to rescue efforts.

I have written on other
Poetry sites
As this one you
have to be invited
For the right

There are issues with this site
Freezing word lines ,curser going
Haywire
Unable to fix your errors
However

I have also noticed
When you offer critique of  a poem
that you feel is great
  Admire Even
Yet you see a little tiny
thing that could suggest
To be looked at by the author

Your jumped on by someone
And band wagon begins

Poetry on other  sites
you must make
Two critiques on the poem
and one on the title

It’s all about working
Together with fellow writers
Of verse and proses

A site without helping each other
Is  only about posting for practice
Nothing else
People are too sensitive

Writing with blinders on
Does not allow for growth

It’s all a matter of perspective
people don’t mean
criticism negatively
they are just  honestly
trying to help
but then others
take it wrong
feathers get ruffled

And out comes mr. nasty
Giving a poem thumbs down
REALLY IS THAT  necessary
Just don’t read or write on it
Pass it by

If  you want to get published
advise should be welcomed
Surely rejection letters are
Not the end goal

When one is not able to
here the reflection
In one’s voice
it’s difficult to determine
Friend or foe

just let it go
It’s not worth the effort
only have good intentions

It’s all a matter of
Perspective
Those who  make negative comments of a poem or comment are not contributing in anyone’s best interest I have taken to private messages with my suggestions who needs the drama
