I can see the reflection of the world’s heart
As light struggles through the shadow
Breaking the diseased tumour apart
Love being the life cure, generously applied
Through the human population flow
And Earths orbit turns into a joyride

Self-awareness is a virtue
like no other,
so I seek not to excuse anyone
completely,
but some have seen multitudes
of shattering pain,
been through countless nights
of sobbing and wailing and crying,
dark, scared, and alone.
Been through abuses unspeakable,
torn from families,
families torn from them,
torn into them.
Some see tragedy after tragedy after
tragedy
warp their very soul
and never reconcile it with the world.
Some experience the truly malevolent
in others or in themselves,
and are never able to bring it to peace.
Some live in perpetual hells
brought on from themselves
or inescapable circumstances.
And yet, despite all of this,
most are capable of great good
and great love in this world.
It’s a wonder there’s any good
in anyone
at all,
so how do we explain that?

Everything in my life
Falling apart
And
Simultaneously
everything in my life
pulling itself together
The truth is
life breaks everyone
life breaks everything
Nevertheless
I choose positive thoughts
I choose adaptability
I choose compassion
I choose gratitude
I choose love
I choose humility
I choose courage
I choose to keep moving forward
I choose to create a beautiful life
within the ugliness of it all
I choose to reach inside myself
and ignite a fire that will burn
forevermore
And at the end of it all
I know I will emerge victorious
within those broken places

I was a nomad,
Searching for better pastures,
From one tender heart to another,
At last I found the oasis,
In my lover's heart,
I was home.

To lavishly love and joyfully
share your life with happiness
is always going to heal your soul,
your life and your brokenness.
The heart that loves
cannot hurt anyone.
Never hurt the person
whose only intention was
to make you happy.
You will even be more lonely
when you hurt that person who
in vulnerability stretches and
extended his heart to
you in fellowship.
For your stony heart in confusion
will even be more devastated.
Recognize that there's only one
thing that you will ever do but
to yield to the tenderness of love.
Stop struggling and opposing
yourself but with gladness
welcome the heart that
opens up to you.
It's tenderness will soften
your brokenness and lift your soul
higher to receive the strength
that only comes from the one
whose heart God dwells.
Being deeply loved by someone
gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply
gives you courage.
Don't ever hurt anyone,
especially the one you love
for your stony heart will be so burned,
messed up and consumed
that it will be nearly impossible
for help to come and be rescued.
Yield to love and live.

I want to cry sitting in the floor with my dog
People aren’t like this
He doesn’t expect me to be creative with my words
He doesn’t need me to tell him he’s cute
I pet his head and I know all he sees is me
He doesn’t care if I cry for no reason
He doesn’t care if I don’t want to get out of bed today
When I stop petting him he puts his paw on my leg
He wants me to keep petting him
He isn’t afraid to tell me what he wants
What he needs
He is unabashedly candid
He doesn’t play games
He doesn’t hold back
People aren’t like this
This pure, this innocent
I want to cry
Because I wish I were more like him

Always write to inspire
Encourage, enlighten and empower
Be that positive motivating force
Every minute and hour
Teach the youths how to live
Give them guidance in order to thrive
Show them how to find their inner strength
In order to survive

Hues of gold hug the horizon,
The air is heavy with the scent of a rainy day,
A pride of lions moves its limbs with a motion of might,
A motion of magic precedes the pack.

A dragonfly bounces along the river of relief,
The sun sets its final shimmer of sophistication
Behind the silhouette of a striking baobab.

A pocket of air holds the wings of the stork in a mathematical manner,
as it sweeps over of the plateau of promise.

South Africa,
A nation in progress,
Where each combination of skin tones each have a story to tell of its own,
a story of history,
a story of might.

Long live the pride of lions,
the Giants of our Rainbow Nation who sow seeds of sunshine in every corner of the soil.
Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika.
- this poem is dedicated to my country, South Africa. May we become a nation of prosperity and light regardless of race, religion or creed. Let us honor the legacy of our forefathers and emerge as strong and beautiful in every sphere of our existence.

Suicide is a PERMANENT answer
to a TEMPORARY problem.
Nothing good nor bad lasts forever,
and life is short.
You are unique.
You are special.
You are loved.
You were born for a reason
Please, do not suffer in silence
There is no shame in getting help
Life is tragically short as it is
Please don't make yours any shorter...

It's hard, I know.
To feel like there is no light left in this world and you want to just stop the pain altogether. I've been there, and in a way, I'm kind of still there. In that void of pain and self-doubt, questioning everything. My life, my existence...
I have tried to commit suicide. The act of it gave me a temporary comfort but, I knew myself. I could never ever see it through. I couldn't deny myself my future. A chance to finally find and have peace of mind and body. To be happy with who and what I am...
It's a battle, but as long as you have people who support you, who love you,
as long as you get the help you need and keep going,
you will be alright.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments on my 'Hide' poem as well as all the messages. My apologies that I haven't read or responded them, I'm still trying to gather myself. I'm not yet on the right state of mind...
Also, thank you so much for 218 followers!
I'll be back soon.
Take care everyone!
Much love,
Lyn ***
