Strutting feathers,
Nose I hold in high contempt of all things,
Look at this preening fool in bad weather,
And find in me a little piece of nothing.

A hole, another null area, a void,
A reciprocal infinity, a tranquillity internally collapsing,
A black space within my darkest face ,
One never acknowledged publicly.

Therein lay the worst thoughts 'never' had,
It is the place where my Nothing hides,
You have one too.
Have you found it yet?
Please read on only when you do,

This Void never really goes away,
And I fed it, in the hope of making it disappear,
Threw at it all that money can buy,
And all that it couldn't,
But at the end came to a realization,
That Everything you do has an effect on this hell hole,
But nothing you do, will ever decrease it,
Your only hope remains in keeping it constant and bearable,

*For this is the meaning of life,
Keeping this Nothing from becoming you.

Laying awake at ungodly hours,
I've often stared into a ceiling that I reflexively believed to be present.

But, whenever I did find myself at leisure from sweating and sleeping,
it was always too dark to make sure that the roof was still there. And this invoked a primal fear within me.

If you need to ask why I felt afraid, you've never been a father.

A father closer to the grave than any of the naive goals he'd set for himself as a child.
A father who had traded his breath and blood for bread and a burrow.
*This uncertain roof, often made me ask, "Has it been worth it?"

Melancholia

The red roses now lay
Dead on the ground
The violets have withered away
On the wings of wind,
The love that once was there
Will never be
The girl who I was,
Is lost to,
A ghost I never thought I'll see

The poetry pages
Now lay tattered
and torn on the floor,
The writer's pen is also gone
The ink running inside
his vein has dried,
Somewhere he is lost in his suffering and plight

There is a kind of lost
That is never found
A darkness so profound,
There is no scope for hope
A void so vast,
No sound can get through

The mirror now lays
Broken on the bed,
The broken reflections reflects the brokenness inside her heart
Being so young, she should not
But she already fell in love with the company
Melancholia brings

The dimly lit room,
Absorbs all the light the window lets in,
How much more breaths
Before he blends in,
And becomes one with the darkness
That surrounds him

He is not giving up,
but maybe he will give in,
It is so peaceful once
you hit the rock bottom
You can finally lay in peace
With no one calling out your name
No one calling out your name,
**With no care in the world
You can finally be

Sometimes you please me with smiles,
But sometimes you leave me alone in piles.

Sometimes you talk about us walking down the aisle,
But sometimes you just run away with my heart far in miles.

But I know, you would always be worth the while.

Yesterday
You told me my love was not enough,
And you said you would be giving up.

Today
You told me you were afraid of losing me,
That I'm the only one your eyes will ever see.

Tomorrow
Would you tell me that you love me?
Or would you do the same and disagree?
You make me go insane,
But you're all I've been thinking.

I Lied

She asked for my help
To stay by her side
I just smiled and told her
Everything will be alright

I grabbed her hand, I held it tight
She asked me to sing her a lullaby
I did,I sang her favorite song
When I finished singing, I realized she was gone

She was smiling, her eyes closed
She went off peacefully, a silent death
She didn't say nor hear the word goodbye
It was painful for me to just let her slip by

I remember the time, and the place
And even the clothes she had on that cold winter night
That was the first time I met her, in an unexpected way
Yet, it felt planned like it was no accident

I was buying gifts for my family and friends
In a local store down the street
Down the shelf of trinkets and presents
I saw a doll my niece had always wanted

It was the last one there, and seeing no one else
I reached for the doll, ready to get it with my hand
However, it looked like I was not alone
There was another woman, who wanted it as well.

Being the man that I was, I let her take it
She told me it's mine, but I insisted she take it
Not wanting to feel guilty, she asked me to dinner
To repay me for giving her the doll we both wanted

I was hesitant at first, but I gave in
She was happy with my reply, joyful even
I just smiled, I realized how beautiful she was
We found a restaurant, and hastily went in

We talked the whole night, like friends reunited
When in truth, we had just met by accident
Annie was her name, and I never forgot it
The night passed by with us talking and laughing

I felt weird, not knowing what it was
It wasn't bad, it was actually the best feeling I've ever had
We had to part, as the night grew deep
But not before I asked for another time for us to meet

Weeks passed by, she and I just fell
For each other, not noticing at first
But slowly we realized our feelings for each other
And at the same time, confessed our love for one another

I was happy that time
Happier than I have ever been in my entire life
But unfortunately, the universe had other plans for me
And also for my dear sweet Annie.

About a year after we first met
On her way to the restaurant we had set
For a date to celebrate the day we met
She met a horrible and tragic accident

She was ran over by a car that lost control
Due to the wet, slippery road
And came speeding towards her direction
Soon screams and sirens were heard

I was contacted by her mother of what had taken place
And told me Annie was in a critical state
I frantically asked where she was now
I heard hospital, there was only one in town

I rushed to her, wanting to see if she's okay
I got to her room, everything seemed alright
I saw the doctor, and asked if she's fine
He just pat my shoulder, and gave off a sigh

I went to her and slowly stroked her hair
Waiting for her to wake up, or show signs she's still there
She did, and she gave a weak smile
And shed a single tear that slid down her eye

She asked for my help
To stay by her side
I just smiled and told her
Everything will be alright
But now, I know that I had lied

Silence can speak louder than words.
Silence can be louder than screams.
Sometimes silence isn't silent at all,
but the complete opposite.

It's a constant battle,
In my heart and head.

Give him a chance
Don't fall for his trance.

It's just a dance,
I'd rather be in France.

But look how ravishing he looks in his suit and pants,
I wouldn't even give him a second glance.

They say listen to your heart,
But you have to be smart
Or you're fall apart,
Having to repeat from the start.
