in the darkness i dance
crimson hair
like flames on the wind,
the moonlight
kissing my skin
wearing nothing
but midnight
i lie in wait,
surrendering myself
to the flames
for from the dark
my love has returned.
- starlight filters through the trees while the horned God chases his Queen.

i lay beside you
and i saw eternity
now all i have
is the sweet taste
of clementines
still dancing on my tongue
and the memory
of sweat kissed curls
tousled in my fingertips
with your ocean eyes
stuck on mine
full of hope
full of wonder
daring to believe in forever.
- we met at the wrong time, a cruel trick of fate.

my only wish
is that you would
see yourself
through my eyes,
a warrior heart
with magic swimming
in your veins.
maybe then
you would understand.
- you have always been enough.

sometimes
there are no other words
that will do
no embellishment worthy,
no outpouring of devotion.
sometimes
all i can say is,
i miss you
more than i ever knew
my bones could take.
- in the darkness i wonder if you ever think of me.

the only thing
i will never understand
is why you opened me up
molded me to fit you
so perfectly,
only to then
walk away silently
like a spectre in the night
leaving me with nothing
but bruises
and my own sanity to doubt.
- i can't apologise for falling completely when i thought you'd be there to catch me.

i wonder if your ghosts
whisper a thousand kisses
while you sleep
if their vermilion hair
brushes your skin
leaving you burning
dreaming of stolen glances
and blood stained lips
just as mine
wrap their hands
tightly around my throat
before gently pulling me under
with the sweetest lullaby.
- consumed by a bloodlust that i'll never understand.

it's been so long now
since i last seen your face
that i can no longer remember
the way we spoke
our rhythms
our little inside jokes
it's as if i'm fighting through
the deepest fog
with every memory of you
grasping at details
that are slowly fading
before there is nothing left
but a ghost.
