you consume me
so entirely
filling up my lungs
with each breath
dancing around my veins
with each beat of my heart.
- i will worship at your altar.
rk Apr 2020
you've been on my mind
for so long now
that i've forgotten completely
what it was like
to not have you entangled
in every corner.
every dust filled crevice
has been infused
with thoughts of you,
that i have enough
to fill the night sky
a million times over.
i only hope
these finespun webs
and their protective embrace
are strong enough
to keep you safe.

i spend most nights at home
falling in love all over again
with my memories of you
and your silken fingertips
slowly dancing their way
along my spine,
leaving a trail of stardust
in their wake.
- sweeter than honey.

i once heard someone say
that souls were created
in two parts,
destined to spend their lifetime
searching the ends of the earth
for their missing half.
now i know,
that you were mine.
even now you are gone
and my weary bones
ache for you with each breath
all i can think
is how lucky i am
to have found and loved you
more intensely than the sun
burns in the heavens,
than never at all.
- you will be mine forever, the void never fills.

we were creatures of the night
worshipping each other,
bathing in the starlight.
now we are strangers,
and i long to run free
around the corners
of your mind once more.

our love was endowed
with countless stolen moments
and endless uncertainty,
yet you were the only thing
that i was sure of.
i wonder if the taste
of apples and cinnamon
takes you back to tender nights
underneath bedsheets,
in the same painful way
that strawberry soaked kisses
and honey covered fingertips
will always bring me
back to y o u.

the moonlight
which i once longed for
like a lover yearning
for just one more taste,
now leaves me aching.
i no longer look forward
to the velvet nights
that i once found such comfort in,
for in the darkness
all i can see
is your ghost.
- dripping with sin, do it again.
