You elected a crazy person
For most of the offices.
You applauded a dictator.
And that is just what he is.
You cheered for a proven liar.
And failed to fact check him.
You voted for a misogynist
And against all of the women.

You elected a bankrupter
To handle all of our money.
You voted for an adulterer.
And seem to find that funny.
You voted for a cheat and liar
And ignored the facts against him.
You trusted a major swindler
Won’t vote him back to the pig pen.

You pretended he was a businessman
When his businesses mostly failed.
You ignored all his crimes in office
When he should have been jailed.
You made your stupid excuses
And stayed home instead of voting.
You listened to Fox and Breitbart;
Shared the crap they were quoting.
Trump, GOP, cheat, liar, swindler, adulterer, poetry, Kincaid

Give me your affection,
I'll give you love and protection.

Tightly-wrapped thoughts only fester away
So unravel your mind’s bindings ’til they all fall away,
Open your soul to this curious world,
Let its beauty infuse you, as your body unfurls.

Let your eyes hear every sound your ears see,
Let your skin taste the sweetness of infinity,
Spread your perception out far and wide, then
Take a deep breath, and draw the universe inside.

You drink the sunlight that falls from the sky,
You breathe the air that gives everything life,
Your blood flows like rivers, and your flesh soft as earth
Your form and its functions all give your soul worth.

For nothing exists in all time and space
Without having reason, and purpose, and place, as
You are important, like all that you do –
For you are the universe, and
The universe
Is
You.
I wrote this to remind myself that, no matter what my depression might tell me, I have a place in the world, something I hope other people may feel to when they read it.

I miss her light,
She brings in this darkness,
I'll wait here by the phone,
With these stained curtains closed,
My walls are already dripping,
In regret and Revere.

I miss her light,
Heating up this cold heart,
Longing for those bright eyes,
Truly a work of art,
I just need a moment to apologise.

I miss her light,
I'll tell myself not to ride,
Down this road of infinite,
Into a world of terror,
If heaven or hell decide,
Which destiny I'll reside.

I'll still be here, thinking of you,
In the darkest of rooms.
A poem about regret!
It's something maple,
something thick when
you breathe, like dark
chocolate, like tinnitus,
like overandoverandover
again, hard to explain.

I have never met anyone
that could fade and still
burn like you do.

Smooth violence,
bottomless in all its
eternity, moving in water
so deep the ripples never
make it to the surface.

It's not weightless. It never
is, but it waits there, half-
suspended, fixed and
unfixed, solid but slippery
in your hands.

Hold your breath. She
knows you in a way the
angels don't. There's
something she coaxes out
of your chest, something
dark she rolls her tongue
around.

The act of inaction and the
odds, particularly of getting
by unscathed, may be slim
and far between, but the stares
last longer, everything in

maybe it’s because she hides iron fists
in soft velvet gloves.
maybe it’s the authority dripping off her tongue
like honey
slow, and sweet and overwhelming
maybe
just,
maybe it’s because
she’s a woman.
