Lydia loves the Lord...

Sees no reason not
Takes him at his word
Through battles being fought
The Spirit in her testifies
The God of Love
Is the giver of life
And that is why

Lydia loves the Lord...

Still sometimes she's afraid
Of the world that's just outside
And what it would make her give away
People speak in whispers
But she won't answer in kind
To make it through this life
And that is why

Lydia loves the Lord...

Knows it's worth the fight
Wise beyond her years
Beauty holds her tight
In and out is clear
A blessing she is here
As clear as day and night
And that is why

Lydia loves the Lord...
A beautiful soul I met on this site and am proud to call her friend.
Time is such
an imp,
such a
prankster.

When something
fearful
is to come,
he skips
and races
just out of reach,
until,
in chasing him,
suddenly,
multiple weeks have passed
without realizing.

But if you're
highly anticipating
an event,
he ambles along
tripping you up
over and over,
and you wonder
how it could possibly still be the same day.

Does he find our frustration amusing?
You treat Her so badly
the women who would
create your perfect flesh
then out of the womb
you came
felt on a whimsy
you came
out like a shooting star
and thru Her
and yet you treat
Her so cruelly
He spoke a truth; I ate the lie.
He gave me his word; I gagged on the hollow promise.
He touched me; my skin crawled.
He kissed me; his breath was foul.
He spat his sins in my face; I absorbed them, bore them.
He held me; my heart stuttered
He looked at me; his eyes were empty.
He loosed his hold; I moved to him.
I grasped his hand; it was clammy, chilled.
He pulled away; I tightened my grip.
He begged for release; I ignored his pleas.
He whispered, “Why?”; I would not hear.
I struck him down; he was still.
I mouthed “Amen”, then turned away.
An abstract idea that came into my mind today. Not sure if I have developed it fully enough but I like the premise & the ambiguity.
The Twin Souls speak to me,
During the desert suns and
Tranquil moons,
In its greatest oracle,
They tell me
‘Save yourselves or
Remain unsaved’.

They took me to Egypt,
On the magic carpet that
Was dowsed in my room-
Some may call it a rug-
But for the Twins,
They flew during majestic
Nights
Seamless heights.

Nights I look back,
On how my twin was created,
How our paths had crossed
And how lucky
Even blessed we’d been.

Days I look forward,
With my twin and I
Drenched in Kelly Green in our ceremony of
accomplishments
Or seduced by the sun,
Escaping Methodist systems,
And enchanted by esques’ in the forest

Other nights,
My twin was gone,
An empty burden I felt
Swell my chest.

On those nights,
I prayed to the Souls to which
They promised
to keep us together

Some times the Twins advise me,
‘Do not set yourself on fire
to keep others warm’
And
‘Other people are not medicine’-
That is, except for the Twin Souls.

I taught my twin
Lessons of life,
And she taught me
Lessons of gratitude.

I must admit,
We were both a bit
Damseled,
A bit Distressed
[Still dressed to impress]

When time has run out,
Hope is lost,
Spirits are killed,
Demons are in disguise,
And hell breaks loose

I pray to the Twin Souls,
To hold us eternally whole
In the wake of the full moon

Because my TWIN SOUL,
Will never escape
The Encased LOVE and PURSUITS
Of my HEART
For she is a true work of
Art.
Sun
Winter has been long, feels good to
                       finally be able to bask
                                     in the warmth
                                                    of the
                             sun.
//
i know how this will end.
i will sneak into your apartment
before the cops arrive. i will take
one of your shirts from the hamper,
your blanket off the bed, and sleep
wrapped up in both every night
until i remember how to
dream without you.
I run to pretend
I drink to forget
I write to express
I smoke to find rest
I go out to digress

I run to pretend that 6 months have not past since you left
I drink to forget that they have
I write to express the pit manifesting inside me
I smoke to find rest in days that almost **** me
I  stay busy to digress from the truth that you don't miss me
at all
If you'd care to help
I'm saving up cans
With the brilliant idea
To build an aluminum can friend

One that shines bright
That never will rust
In whom I share secrets
One I can trust

He'll have Coca-Cola arms
And Dr. Pepper legs
Non-caffine Sprite
I'll use for his head

Don't want my aluminum can friend
To have jitters all day
Restless at night
Staying up late

I'll give him Pepsi hands
That are willing to please
So when I do chores
He can help me

For my friend on the go
I'll give Mountain Dew feet
A couple Red Bull
If I decide to do wings

And an idea that is good
Would be a Fanta heart
For a colorful beat
With all the flavors there are

So if you'd like to help
I'm saving up cans
With the brilliant idea
To build an aluminum can friend
