Poison
She blew in like a gentle breeze...
As we let her in with ease....
She seemed very sweet and kind...
Little did we know she would put everyone in a bind....
The face of a porcelain doll...
But a heart that destroys all...
It didn't matter at what cost...
As long as she never lost....
SHE is the POISON among us...
That surely has destroyed us...
The circle is broken....
All do to those words of truth be unspoken...
My heart shall never be the same....
For her POISON has won her evil game...
I wish I could fade away....
Like the gentle breeze that couldn't stay...
If I could close my eyes....
And never say my good byes..
I would be free of her hold....
Then it will only be a memory told.

I am a solitary thought
toiling
to anchor down the heart
struggling
to keep
all sails in place
compass intact
and so I brace
as wind and current
take your side
slanting the heart
Learning to swim, sometimes against the tide.
So many fallen before you never looking
Back
Keep it moving
A piece of you was lost, a love was broken
Keep it moving
Never shed a tear

A life partner, a first love tragically estranged, your mind wanders where would we be today
Keep it moving
Never breaking down

The loneliness resides inside, periodically making an entrance
You feel faint and sick inside
Keep it moving
You stand up taller and smile, your best disguise
It looks good on you
The days you look your best and
Keep it moving
Are the very days your heart breaks the most, but you must
*Keep it moving
This tea, I steep
red apple, your kiss
alizarin crimson, wet
impossibly sweet
you soothe, I drink
your lingering lips
poured with honey milk
by the fire, consumed
of love infused
with herbs and leaves
this tea, I drink.
The body of a poem

Could never be as beautiful as *yours
How many times
would I return
in an attempt to be the storm
that claims your heart as an abode
on a day which no longer exists

How many
to create my earth
in subtle grooves upon your back
until the seeds of every kiss
begin to live, feeling your motive
and your warmth

How many
to reclaim the fruits
of tender mornings gone
contrary to the wind as whispers
from your lips

How many before the storm's
inevitable retreat
leaving only white flags
white flags in bloom
ceding to time
as scars
and beauty marks

And how many more
would I return
before the clouds break
in the sun

I do not know
I'll be like
Every other poet
And compare you
To the stars

Because you shine
So bright and
Very beautifully
Just like them

But you and
I both know
Behind that glow
You're dying inside

I saw forever in your eyes. . .

                Then you closed them.
Wrote this when I found out my husband was in love with another woman.
Twenty-six letters in the alphabet
Restrain me in creativity of expression
But I'll use all variations of them
To express every possible emotion
Because I am so free and so big
Made up of small infinities
I want to love with intensity
And hurt just the same
I'll burn every letter on paper
As it burns in my heart
For you all to see that I am the letters
And also everything in between
