Whether s/he be
In chains & fetters
Lazy or a
Real go-getter
Using pen
Or tech typesetters
Staid & proper
Or upsetter
A Poet remains
A wo/man of letters.

Ugly or quite
Fair of face
Present.
Gone without a trace
In polyester
Or fine lace
Sure of pen
Prone to erase
Poets ALL
We bestow grace.

Well read or
Quite ignorant
Cogent or
Lacking in sense
Wealthy or
Don't have one cent
Nostalgia or
The present tense
Poets have their
Eloquence.

Wo/man! We the
Letters make!
It is all a
Give & take!
Get going
For goodness sake!
Whether you are
Real or fake
Heck! We ALL
make our mistakes!
Whether we are
Gent or rake
We leave MENSAs
In our wake!

So on it goes
We laugh or sigh
We celebrate
Or weep & cry
We struggle on
We try the rye
We are awake
Or bleary eyed
Life can't stop
It will pass by
It will pass

UNTIL WE DIE.

My dear sister all of your poems are beautiful.
I see the Good Lord leading you in his Steps.
For I know that you are truly precious to him.
As well as a gift to others from our Great God.
I see your heart is for Christ and the Father.
For he uses your words to minster to the lost.
To draw them into his Mighty Kingdom too.
For he desires all to repent and come to know him.
Thus drawing them too into his Mighty Kingdom.

Gently, feathers floating high
From wings of
White doves as they fly
Solemn, silent as a sigh
Floes & snow banks by & by...

Six sided crystals, different all
None are perfect as they fall
Frozen, they heed nature's call
In human hands can be a ball
To throw as children, we'll recall...

The built up forts & furious fights!
It's a time to bundle tight!
We're all artists at the sight
Of flakes falling, defused light
On parts of earth it's endless night.

During storms it'll cut & slice
On the roads can become ice
Please,  just listen to advice
Stay inside where it is nice!

Snow. The Queen of legend... lore!
There's SO much she has in store
The winter's scepter in the tors
It in the valley, desert floors
When heaven opens up it's doors
When the wind rips & roars
When it sprinkles then it pours...

It fascinates forevermore!

[song lyrics]

There's a lady with a cane
She broke her hip, now she is lame
Just a face - she has no name
To most all faces look the same
Nose in phones -
Playing their games
Vague indifference is to blame.

[Chorus]
Listen to what I have to say
It should be Christmas every day
The world can be bleak & gray
It should be Christmas every day

There's a boy sits on the stairs
He's in a gang & no one cares
Watches for the cops out there
So his homies sell their wares
A throwaway, he has no hope
He's already using dope
His only way to to deal & cope
He's going down a slippery *****.

[Chorus]

Humans all. They cry. They weep.
They bleed red, their souls they keep
They are lost - cast down sheep
They're in HELL - and they're in deep
All the time the talking heads
Laud celebrities instead
There is war. Much blood is shed.
Teenagers - they end up dead.

[Chorus]
Have you heard all this today?
Can you speak up? Can you pray?
Help this world find a way?

IT SHOULD BE
CHRISTMAS EVERY DAY!

[Bridge]
Can you hear the trumpet sound?
Lifting saints up off the ground!
They spoke out 'bout
What they found!
Now their joy will,
In strength, ABOUND!
JESUS! May His name resound!

T'was the night before leaving
And all through the flat
All the creatures were creeping
Especially the rats.
The food was all stored
In the fridge with great care
For all the Cockroaches
Crawling 'round there.
The paint was all peeling
The mattresses stained
The children kept silent
For the Neighbors complained.
Their parents despairing
For what they would eat
No help from the landlord.
No family to greet.
For they were evicted.
Left out in the cold.
They'd sleep in their car
Which was rusty & old.
They are broken hearted!
Should this end as it aught?
Does this sound like
Your Christmas?
Of course it does not!
Please give to the homeless!
They live in all lands
But their Christmas is brighter
Due to your Helping Hands!
Your time's of great value
As is your wealth
But it's better by far
To give of yourself!
Pass out food to the needy
So they can sup
But don't give a hand out
Give a hand up!
The Bible sure tells it
It'll give you a clue
Follow the Christ
Do what Jesus would do!
But keep it a secret!
Don't broadcast to all!
God will reward you
For heeding His call!
You will have pleased Him.
Spread cheer all around
You will find up in heaven

A GREAT JEWEL IN YOUR CROWN.

Esoteric Eleanor...
Is a woman set apart
She has an obscure interest
In a certain type of art.

She collects her little fairies
Has an interest in old tomes
Has few, if any, closer friends
Has tons of garden gnomes.

She owns a run-down mansion
With lots of dusty rooms
Her letters closed with sealing wax
She speaks in garbled runes.

She met her fate one cloudy day
Oh yes, she is quite dead.
Her foot slipped on the marbles
That spilled out of her head!

Yes, she lost her footing
Alas, she is no more
Lies within her antique coffin
Esoteric Eleanor.

This poem kind of evolved... I really don't know how! NOT about anyone specific. Just alliteration of words for the title.

In her gauzy garments
Above the bowing trees
The moon has many lovers
In the sighing breeze.

They all take her dancing
In exotic lands
They give her sparkling diamonds
They kiss her milk-white hands.

She is round & fullsome
Or slender as a waif
When she is then waning
Her flowers are kept safe.

Silken skeins of darkness
When she's waxing full
Are parted by her brightness
She is NEVER dull!

Her beaux are all so courtly
But she eschews them all
Her only love can make her pale
She burns at his call...

She lets out her moonbeams
Through her eyes they weep
She loves the one eclipsing her
They can NEVER meet!

She, so strong within her court
Will curtsey when he comes
The moon has many lovers

But she's taken by the SUN.
