Lost Skies

When I was born
There was sky
Over my head
It was blue, sometimes dark
Now there is a canopy of  black tar
ash balloons, concrete shadows
Monster clouds;
Have stars committed suicide too
In a mammoth black hole?
Eagles that chased cotton flies
Also disappeared
What's happening to my little world
It's getting Somewhere lost.

It is her that awaits you at home
Curls her arms around you sweetly
Embraces you daily in plain love
That lightens your path like a muse

Me?
I'm your Nessie to play with as you will
Or a monster of my own creation
Only used to talk to or to sometimes vent
An alchemist's joke gone wrong
Left like a fear in the dark at the day's end

And You?
When you get home she laughs about me
as she slowly worships your warm lips with vigor
So you sense the love slipping between your bodies
Pronounce the words to her I now cannot say to you.

So  now I'm left on my own to
Fill the spaces between my fingers
Fill up the space between my toes
With the loneliness you gave me
                                  Until all I am
                                            all I will be
                                                               is alone.

Each of us is painter
Given a canvas called life;
Holding our brushes
Making strokes and lines of our own;
Choosing colors that define us -
Creating a unique masterpiece.
I wanna paint again but I no longer have time for it </3

You are the Moon and my heart is the tide.
Constantly pushing
and pulling.

This back and forth,
frothing and crashing turbulent wave cycle,
it's exhausting.

I cling to the bow of this ship,
hoping the calm between stretches longer this time.

Why couldn't I have fallen in love with a placid river?

We suffer fools to fare better
Then those who walk in poor weather
Then those who struggle to find the truth
And in suffering those other flagrant fools
Those corporate and theological tools
We cause greater suffering to
All of our youths
The world turns and turns
Days and nights, pages in a book
My chapters are still
In the first act
I observe and open welcomings
Life would seem to have it so

Now I cross
Into the rising action
A world ulterior objects breeds
Full of infantile inhibitions

The world twists and turns
Coiled by the challenge that engulfs us
Sprung are the few, clenched are many
By the mist we inhale
Sprayed unto all from nowhere
And everywhere

The world twists and twists
A curdling sensation
We all turn numb from
Is my plight foreign, is anyone's?
Have the roads left a place to wander?
Leave me to the space between all
Away from marks of certainty

Rewritten or not
The chapters will continue
And the twists will turn the pages
Until my tale is done
And I begin the next

I am dead

She has no interest
in talking to me anymore.
Like a broken toy,
used, and tossed
onto the floor.
Forgotten and thrown
under the bed;
played with then put away
because to her,
I am dead.

And to the world
I am dead.
I breathe,
but with no purpose.
I do exist,
but without meaning.
I am awake,
yet there's no focus.
And I sleep,
but there is no dreaming.
I am dead.

And she has no interest
in talking to me anymore.
And it's all my fault.
I wish this life
would just grind to a halt.
I destroy everything good
that ever happens to me;
And it's only the sweet promise of death
that can set me free.

I am dead.
Or rather,
I wish  I could be.

Ominous
When you're shattered
you should be aware
of your sharp edges
so you won't hurt
the ones
who tries to embrace you
with a gentle & warm
smile.
