My place

In the darkest hour
Just before the dawn
My mind goes wild
Flies far away
Above the sky

Where my fingertips tickle
The little hairs on your neck
Where your smiling eyes
Read me between the lines

In that special place
Over the clouds
You wait for me

I believe

The same way I wait here
For you
To arrive
Of all the fears I posses
death is not one of them
Living!
Living without a purpose I fear
Live with purpose
Diamond skies.
Moonstruck eyes.
Silent lips
Tells no lies.
Stardust quietly floats around,
A frozen blanket mutes the slumber town.
The chill runs deep
While the season sleeps.
But my heart is warm,
And that, you can keep.

Gavin
I knit those words together
so you can pull them over yourself,
on a cold day
and always remember,
Its me keeping you warm.

Commuter Poet
The two minute silence
Revealed
Sounds of my breathing
A humming of the building
Distant birdsong

The racings of my brain were stilled
And the gentle aching of my bones became perceptible

I tasted the air
Saw its colours
And noticed
The ticking of time

I wonder what I’d notice
If I would sit silent and still
For an hour?

I lie
Breathing
Observing pulses of pink
And purple light
Oozing
Behind closed eyelids

I wait on the surface of the earth
Ready to drop into the empty abyss
Of earthlessness below

My mind
Gradually loosens its grip
On the present
And I am no longer here
I am gone
To a better, deeper place
Where I am playful, rested, relaxed

Until, your voice calls me back
And I must return to my feet
