Down in Trafalgar Square
Ashtereth Jul 2021
Streetlights glow softly tonight, oh such a simple delight,
Fleeting through the blurred streets, how quick my heartbeats,
Footsteps in snow; paired with faces aglow,
Pitter-pat they go,
Down in Trafalgar Square

A Nordic pine so fine, a true one of a kind,
Upon which one could not scribe such beauty in mere rhyme,
And you'll know it's the right time
When ears hear tunes of glee, eyes see sights carefree,
For it is the season of joy and celebration,
Down in Trafalgar Square

Blue
Ashtereth Jul 2021
Just saying words doesn't fulfill the feeling,
Leaves me down and blue,
That it takes so much explaining;
To show how much I love you.

Chains of History
Ashtereth Jul 2021
I'm bound by thin shackles, thick ones too,
My mind is held hostage and how I try to escape,
My body may move, yet the Chains of History keep me bottled, I can't forget the ghosts of my past; the traps I so blindly walked into,
How they love to linger,
As a painful reminder of my regrets and remorse,
They speak to me, like every rose to its thorn,
They bind tighter,
I smile.
For with them,
I am Complete.

The phoenix
Ashtereth Dec 2016
Perilous, fiery eyes glaring from a high perch
Hurtling flames amidst the dark woods
Orange and red glowing silently
Elegant feathers of fine dust
Night is prime time for the Hunter
Ignited with colour and flame
Xeric feathers radiating heat, you'll wish you'd never came

THE PEGASUS
Ashtereth Oct 2016
So graceful it flies with wings if silver
Few have glimpsed it we've yet to discover,
With kind gentle eyes and a horn of gold,
It's story is yet to be told.
With a gleaming white coat and 4 little hooves,
You can't catch it whenever it moves.

The twisted horn which is said to sparkle,
Never had the need to darkle
It lives where the season is always spring,
And where it can rule as king.
