A Pair Of Green Mambas
Mohamed Nasir Oct 2018
Green coated so rarely you see
Seeking meals of small games.
Absolutely silent flows fluidly
Where their fork tongues aim.

Natives inhibit in leafy shades
In trees of canopies high above.
With scales gleaming like jades
Dances to beating drum of love.

Equally well adapted in suburbs
They come in the vicinity of man.
Here the danger lies colours rubs
Into shrubs and bushes to blend.

Via the tip of each tongue winds
Into a Jacobson's ***** impulses
Of the air they kissed send finds
What ahead can satisfy hungers.

Darkest pair of mouths in Africa
Ajar in sheer delight in weird grin
Of secrets hidden uncovered aha!
Food served without obvious sin.

Slides over a nest and exclaims
Death two birdies in cradle ouch.
Yet another victim Africa claims.
I moan not as I lay on my couch.

A Song To My Beloved
Mohamed Nasir Dec 2017
Love me as you loved me
Like you loved me before
Never leave me never
Never never more

Kiss me o my love kiss me
Like you kissed me before
Never leave me never
Never never more

Let me be in your arms
Let me sway to your charm
Let me be the only one
Let me be your sun

Hold me my darling hold me
Oh like you hold me before
Never leave me never
Never never more

I'm sickly my darling I'm sickly
Hold me like you never
Hold me before
Kiss me my love kiss me
Never leave me never more

Let me be in your arms
Let me sway to your charm
Let me be your only one
Let me be your sun
Inspired from an old hindi song of an old hindi movie. Not a translation. The words are of my own.

While They Were Gone
Mohamed Nasir Jan 2018
While they were gone
she was *****
he or they left her dead
her young life was torn
her small body was ruined
her flimsy body was shamed
her new life was shredded
her tiny body was stained
her puny body was ravaged
her life was gone
from them forever
while the were gone
while ask God Almighty
for strength in their faith
resolved and steadfastness
in the face of adversity
is this their answer
or is this the test
they've to suffer.
My heart goes to little Zainab. She was a 10 year old girl who was ***** and killed while her parents went for pilgrimage to Mecca.

Waking Up Late
Mohamed Nasir Sep 2018
Sometimes I hate
It when I woke up late

The first thing I know
Looking out the window

All I can say is wow
It's show time now

Pigeons impatiently
So crooing booing me

High on rooftops wait
I hate waking up late
Every morning pigeons would be crooing on the rooftops for me to come to feed them. If I'm late their crooing sounded like booing.

Don't go outside on December 31st
Don't go outside at 11:59 pm. Just
Don't go outside for cigarettes
Or round the corner for a pack of beer
Don't go outside even for a drink
Otherwise, that evening
If you step out of that door, for sure
You'll come back next year.

Feeling Good
Mohamed Nasir Oct 2018
After the roar of the wind
had grinded down to die

sullen clouds dispensed
disbursed off their load

mist particles descended
sunlight pierced through

what's left of clouds there
poses a beautiful rainbow

emergence of light on drops
of rain crossing the azure sky

mighty nature stoops like a dog
locked in the element's grasped

growls and struggles to no avail
splashing it's body of curly trees

furs soaked forest dripping wet
spraying water into the breeze

nature needs to be scrubbed
once in a while like clothes

feeling good fresh as air
lay wagging it's tail.
Mohamed Nasir Nov 2017
I'm tired and your tired too
Coming to see me now and then. When
You have the time
Your tired and I don't blame you
I can't explain this type of tiredness
It's not a seasonal thing. It doesn't come
When the season comes
It doesn't disappear when the season
Is over. It kind of lingers
This tiredness permeats into the body
Sort of alien ever so slowly overwhelmed
Me and I'm powerless against the body
Snatchers
The mind is tired the eyes are tired. The
Limbs are tired too
Wearing the same old clothes and the same
Old shoes
Not that she can't effort to buy me new
Clothes. Right now I don't need to
I'm tired and your tired too
The same old folks friends the same old
Faces greeted me the same breakfast
Welcome me every morning and I'll be
Glad she comes and bring along her kids
To see their granddad
I can sit in the living room and watched TV
I can sit at the window watching the grass grow
I can hear the birds singing the **** crow
I can hear the wind blow
I can't wait for you to show up
I know you're busy I don't want to interrupt
I'm tired and your tired too
And l longed to go back home. But I'll be
Alone all the time. I don't want to bother
You now I know you're busy. I know
Your tired and I'm tired too
As it was told to me at the old folks home where this man is one of the lucky ones who have a daughter who comes visiting him occasionally.

Time To Wait
Mohamed Nasir Sep 2018
Time is a man's enemy
When he can only wait

And begs like a begger
For time and he weeps

His days are almost up
His time come to a still

It's time for him to walk
The longest walk to hell

A coffin will come home
And she waits no longer.
On death row time is a precious commodity. His loved one can only wait for him to come home finally in a coffin. Here the capital punishment is death by hanging.

Among The Clouds
Mohamed Nasir May 2018
By the windows in the quiet sky,
On an ocean of smokey cloud limitless.
Hues of bright grey and blue of emptiness;
Nothing stirs this high not even birds fly.

In the cabin he hears the humming,
Filters through almost as if a faint sob.
The head dull drowsy lulls by the throb
Of soft distant drums soon dreaming.

For no more interesting movies to watch,
No more magazines that he didn't browse.
Being an avid traveller spends many hours,
Among the clouds he could reach out to touch.

Under a shade a young man looking up,
He ponders clouds in its voluptuous form,
He scans searches her beauty with his warm
Eyes, his hands so close enough he could rub

Feels her body in his and his presence enlarges.
He'd dream away of a lover from afar,
Like an unrequited love to a **** star;
Now he looks at clouds, it seems, only like mirages.

The Worm
Mohamed Nasir Jan 2018
The cylindrical invertebrate slimy worm
In tributaries of tubes they live, love and squirm
In winter they'd burrow deep in their borrowed land
Duty bound to keep fertile every pasture valley and gland
And they never wish to see the light
They're the secret agents often out of sight
After the snow had melted in spring they'd sense it's time
They'd wriggle up to the surface by the stones and grime
In a tunnel of love two creatures of the soil
Wrap armless with every love's coil
As he and she naked in their darkest plot
Copulating by the roots in a devine spot

One summer day some boys dug up his porous home
And found the worm sleeping alone
With no limbs to fight helpless to flee
And no eyes to see no mouth to plea
They took him to a river not to bath him but for bait
They pierced him toss him into the water and wait
That's how he was introduced to the fish
That didn't know he's a palatable dish
Didn't know before how a worm looked
Like being curious bites it now it's hooked
Yet a life unfold in the earth to soldier on strive
Perhaps atonement for sins done in the previous life

But you should never belittle the lowly worm
For his contribution to our ecosystems
As he eats and excrete and fertilize the soil to be repeated
Continuously as the nutrient absorbed into the roots spirited
By the veins to blades of grasses, plants and trees in turned
Fosters leaves and greens the Earth but no rewards he earned
For this important role stimuli variance of grass and vegetable
As food for human and cattle to be exited through the bowel
To be eaten by the worm again and again the cycle goes
Till he dies under an autumn leaf consumed by his own compose
Yet unbeknownst to what significance to us he has brought
But look and behold to the rustic hero hard at work in the sod

Some poets not of meekness but of valor
When the pen not the sword they chose
In a quiet solitude in earnest labour
With ink of tears in their lyrical woes

Write in sober or when they're drunk
With passion with a yearn in every heart
Or write in sadness in a chair they sunk
While some write for the sake of their art
Mohamed Nasir Mar 2018
Being young time in hand
I thought life is without tests
In my naivety thinks

Life without failure
Sadness, pain, illness, problems
Without fear hunger

None poverty-stricken
In tents against the elements
No clean water, lights

Less greed, lust for wars
Without destructive Nature
Live in peace on Earth

No smog, pollutants
Global warming, climatic
Changes, Alnino

There's justice for all
No racism, prejudice, hate
Or marginalized

I've come to realize
Score goals touch downs not always
Life's no perfection

And life untroubled
Untouched by drought of sorrow
Drenched in mournful rain

To sweat to achieve
None comes on silver platters
Glory with defeat

Being cheated lied to
Being double crossed, being spat at
Lovers' vows broken

Life isn't row the boat
Merrily, gently down the stream
Life isn't but a dream.

Better to be sad than sick with anxiety
Because I'm focused on being sad
I have no time for anxiety
I won't fret
If it's going to happen
It'll happen
But if it's not it'll not
Sadness is short lived
Sadness brings me near to God
But anxiety is like a broken record
Why worry every minute
Solutions don't contain in it
Someone cheated me the cat was knocked
By a car and it died sad being tricked
Being lied to and someone kicked
The trash can kicked the dog too
I'm sad to see desecration of jungles
For logs I see people looting where other
People are suffering I'm sad
Things happened
I except and life goes on
But you worry
If there are hairs left stuck on the comb
And the cat didn't come back home
Outside the house there's a lot of commotion
You say the neighbor is calling the police
And across the ocean a volcano
Is going to erupt lava is going to burn
Their homes what are they going to do
Where are they going to now
You worry
Whether the politicians are corrupt
If the country is going to bankrupt
Worry doubt your every emotion
Worry is the stepping stone
To depression to the lunatic asylum
There's a way in everything
In everything there's a way
But the mother-in-law is coming
To stay and that is good or bad
Well I'm not worried I'm just feeling sad
Don't worry be sad

Poetry And Chess
Mohamed Nasir Nov 2017
The pawns are lining abreast shoulder to shoulder.                     The King the queen rooks knights and bishops are ready and both side are ready awaiting for the mysterious hands to lift them up from their spots. The ancient game can commence.
The papers neatly stacked. The pen in the olden days is inked poised for a poet's hand to place it onto the blank piece of paper to begin its journey.
The pieces are moved in turn one after the other until a player concedes and defeated.
The poet placed words one followed by another until the work is completed.
Whether one play like a patzer or grandmaster depends on one's knowledge and mental capacity.
Similarly a poet through experience will write according to the level to a given technical know how foresight and mental ability.
Poetry is the art of expression of mind with words through every known emotional state. The art of crafting words with awe.
Chess the art of intellectual intelligence of territorial *******. The art of war.
Poetry and chess are like art mathematics science and music and both are life.
The attitude in chess is to play well and mine is a quest to write my best. To write what I like and to like what I wrote.
And to write till my pen ends its traveling
The King is checkmated the game is over
I won't be a Hardy a Frost or a Browning
I am but a pawn and an incorrigible rhymer.
Poetry and chess needs the faculty of the human brain to manifest a desire to create something beautifully tangible.

Mohamed Nasir Oct 2017
The sleeping cat curls on the long sofa
He gets love shelter me stroking his ego
If he'd let me enter his dreamy door ajar
To a mysterious world that I could follow
Rendezvous with felines in moonlit glow
And for lust he'd travel far into the night
Satisfying females with amorous delight

The sleeping cat dreams of stalking rats
Scurrying in the tall shrubs and bushes
In the cover of darkness stealthily he sets
Ready to pounce soundless claws lashes-
Swiftly his jaws hold the breathless prey
Nature unstirred he goes on his own way

The cat sleeping like a boat in the harbour
In calm azure sea silently bobbing gently
Inhales and exhales in peaceful slumber
He coils in a fluffy ball lazily next to me
Fancies a dog-less land cats roaming free
Awaken with secrets keep of journey far
He licks rolls and purrs on the long sofa

From a shady cicada tree at break of dawn
Sounther back for respite to heal to rest
Watching pigeons foraging on the lawn
Another day for another night of conquest
His gloved paws have ruffled quite a few hairs
Sired numerous kitties with fair share of affairs
Unfortunately the cat has expired his nine lives. Perhaps chasing rats in heaven

A Home By The Sea
Mohamed Nasir Apr 2018
I'd love to live in a nice home by the sea
High above on the cliffs with a birds eye view
Below sailboats joyously flapping sails
Like butterflies flitting amongst flowers.

Fumes of mist riding on gentle breeze
Whilst salting everything it touches
Boulders skin head giants half submerged
Guardsmen protect my home by the sea.

Further out the beach like no man's land
Low tide ***** busy burrowed pin holes
Depositing tiny droplets of sand nearby
Entrances of it's shifting homes by the sea.

Weary of snipers scurry hole to hole
Staying low in the holes as the tides come
In the mornings beach combers, joggers,
Criss crossing by my home by the sea.

Curious seagulls from the lonely piers
Tankers, ships, moveable islands on the horizon
Wind can be mild, breezy, can be rough
But all is well at my home by the sea.

I'll go down winding steps to warm sand
And the teething waves welcoming me
Suppose I've millions of dollars to spend
I'd love to live in a nice home by the sea.
This poem should be read aloud.

The Soul
Mohamed Nasir Dec 2017
The soul is untouchable mysterious
Entity in a sanctum of a remote corner
A growing living embryo fused in us
Till death  we part company thereafter

The ephemeral body of yours is a shell
There the soul dwell kept to nurture
Treat it with care as you'd a garden well
Cause it could be your only treasure

The soul is the light burning inside you
Never sleep with a battery everlast
The one with you through and through
Until the light's last shadow is cast

The reclusive soul is God's loyal servant
Upon its master's demise in an instant
To be discharged of all duties to be sent
A place reserved unknown and distant

As reincarnation of you on judgement day
To declare truth unerring as an arrow
Every good tidings to every act gone astray
Of a false glittering world we borrow

No mercy recalcitrant sinners can expect
Your filial soul will remain forever true
And go gentle with it and go with respect
For you're the soul and the soul is you

Shower love affection with God's praises
Constantly nourish it with good deeds
To enrich it with supplication and prayers
That's all it asked for that's all it needs

Windows of old memories peep.

Waves on waves white as foam;
Believers plenty yet you're I'm so longing.
Where fluid time hardly do seep

Awaits reborn in purifier womb.
My hajj pilgrimage by the One beckoning
My venture of truth devotion deep.

Under a holy sojourn ancient dome;
To repent wild nights sinful tears shedding
Like crystal droplets whilst I sleep.
In rememberance of my pilgrimage to Mecca. A chance given by Almighty to clean purify myself. To repent for my countless sins and be born again renewed as new born child.

Death Of Our Innocents
Mohamed Nasir Dec 2017
What can I say only to Allah I pray
The loss of innocent lives
The gnawing blazing fire slay
Perished as they shrieked strived
To get away

What can we do oh what should we do
That no more of our children
Will suffer death again as those few
Fledgling lives loss without reason
Gone before due

We should not let this forbidden
Act allowed to happen again
But seemed as if all is forgotten
As usual back to our mundane
Ways as if all has been forgiven

The angst suddenly subsided with the fire
That ravaged beloved innocent bodies
Had stoked aflame now left but ember
Such their guardian's desire for justice
The coward hearts timidly surrender

The law could mend the broken hearted
For the culprits had been caught
Won't vindicate the souls of the departed
Even if the culprits go before the court
Even called martyrs by the head trusted

To dedicate look after to take care
Of children sent to be religious to learn
Be responsible and responsive aware
Of the laws and safety concerned
That should be adhered to not to bare
To fate leaving lives and school to burn
An ode to the innocent lives taken by the early dawn fire of a religious school here in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia quite a while back. The headmaster so far has not been called for questioning. He even claimed those died were martyrs. But his hands are stained with the blood of the innocents.

After years in him love hadn't arouse,

Blanket breathing his every breath from within
A consolation for the toils and voices lamenting
For freedom exodus from butchery and hunger
The nation bleeds of men women and children
Soldiers maim and **** to serve their dictator
He tugged his blanket tight his only mate
Sipping coffee stares the frigid water
Politics will determine his fate
For now free and warm
To live another
Storm.
This is to the human catastrophe called Syria

Teacher Teach Me
Mohamed Nasir May 2018
Teacher teach me how to write
a poem I so dream of beauty
so sublime that would never fade
by age, by time, evergreen
Teacher teach me the craft
that is so captivating, spellbound
so truthful to those who reads it
be inspired find the meaning
of life, learned to cry or laugh
their appetite whet
Teacher teach me the ways
that many craved of luscious
food of love to lovers of this art
and sits me by the laps of Gods
Goddesses and high priest
of poetry so as I will taste
immortality
Teacher teach me.

Forgetting always
Mohamed Nasir Nov 2017
Who was it?

Who knocked on my door
And woke
Me up in the middle of the night

Who was it?
I don't know
(there was no one outside)

Except the beating wind
In my face
The snow
Splattering on the floor

I thought it was her
Who knocked on my door
Who woke me up
In the middle of the night

I thought it was her
I thought it was her
Coming back forever

I thought it was her
Forgetting always
That she is dead
I'm just trying a little something different. There is no snow in Malaysia

Cancer
Mohamed Nasir Nov 2017
You're the scourge
You're a dreaded hunter
You've taken more lives
Than the atomic bomb of Hiroshima
Though you're not the the tsunami
Still wrought devastation in your wake
Still you're worst than the bubonic plaque
You've taken so many lives
Lives so dear lives I had cherished
You're not the star of cancer in astronomy
Or other stars we choose to believe to follow
Taken in their advice good or bad or hollow
You lurks within me as you're lurking
In our bodies in all of us dwell
in our cells like a serial killer
Your stalking in our brains in bones our organs
In blood in spines and ******* in our abdomens
When triggered ready to unleash your mutant armies
With menifestation tumours with your vile
Chemical weapon
You're the foe great adversary
Defeated young and old women and men
And you've depleted many of my friends
So untouchable no elixirs no antidotes
Known to us no findings research of note
Has found the answer has found any cure
To your corrosive venom potent power
If death comes first I will have overtaken thee
And will in living ye overcome subdue me?
We shall see.

Don't Drink And Write (10W)
Mohamed Nasir Sep 2018
Don't drink
And write and say
It's alright
It's okay
Do you have to intoxicate yourself with ***** before you could intoxicate yourself with words?

Happy Birthday
Mohamed Nasir Oct 2017
Friends since school,
Go own separate ways,
Both aged and thankful,
To God be praise.

Another year,
Another notch in age.
Another chapter,
Another new life page.
To you today
I'm happy to say.......Happy
Birthday
