The Burdens of Will and Woe
Tyrel Kriger Jan 2017
A moment is all it takes for you to
Walk away from it
Looking away, you wander
towards the busy street
Knowingly getting closer
Dismally walking with smile

Blissfully leaving behind that unkown
That burden of duty
That somhow kept it all from turning to ****
Holding it up and all togeather
As the bricks fell on your head
Knowing others walk by
Only from the sound of them spitting
behind your back

You could just walk away
And wander into rest
Half way there for oh so long
The deserts waiting to swallow you in sand
And besides, it could all fall apart anyways.

You want to leave
So you can dry out, and recover
Scorch your skin as you lounge
Lips pealing, eyes rolled back in bliss
On a decreped pool chair
Sunglasses so no one can see

Although eyes are only one of the dead give aways
Of a consciously dead human
Silently inviting others to join in
"I love that person, they're so care free"
Unburdened

only one who walks on shifting sands
And lets them ***** the fire of ones soul knows
what they see when they look inside.

Dust and bone
Insects and parasites wraped up like
cold, injured loved ones
Coddled and well fed on your dwindling substance,
Your time and attention
Your non renewable resources

They become you
Now a part, a collective
Then the desert throws you onto
An open scorched tarmac
No vehicles, no lines, just black, hot and sticky
Full of people pretending they're not thirsty
The myth of water
rattling their dry twine vocal chords
with laughter and belitlment
All crooked looks and beady eyes

They drag their boney blistered feet
Smiles painted on thier suffering faces
By some rogue hand connected only
To a voice they all hear
"keep walking"
"you can't die if your already dead"

Hotter and hotter as the miles drag
Slower and slower nobody collapses
Their skin now gloves for a hand to wear
Alive only inside
some want to turn back
Some want to stop and think
Some want to die
But the hand keeps them moving

You come, bones and skin
Rotten and stinking, finnaly
Alone,
To some shift
The hand leaves you
The sun is blocked by swirling clouds

You walk up to a mirage on the plain
not comprehending
The fog clouds all but this,
odd bouncing of light
You see a slumped figure tattered in rags
Grey and drooping
And you feel him
Staring back hollow
You stand vapidly gapeing
as a rain drop hits you
Looking at where the road stops to meet a..

The fog seeps back conciously
A very clear line on the ground
Where the tarmac stops
and this smooth plain stands
A surface the color of the receding fog
"Lift your gaze'
It says one more time
Strings cut and hand withdrawn you abide
You place your hand on the cool smooth surface
It starts to rain, washing your meak body

Your mind sharp and keen
for the first time since..
You look up
And you see a person
Holding up some structure
He Cannot look up or his strength will fail him
But he must hold this up
Should his attention turn elsewhere
Whatever it is will surely fall
He cant explain this need
This light, this warmth,
somhow sustained by the strain of his muscles and the exercise of his will
Against odds and favor
He is blind because he is focused
He is dumb because he believes
He is weak because he uses his strength only where needed

He cannot see what he is straining to uphold
But now the reflection peers back with such broad scope.
It is a Beacon blazing out
The warmth is here and the water runs ever on
It falls from the sky onto fertile ground
Those who have not rolled Thier eyes,
those with fire and warmth still inside,
Come, and make a world of it.
Come and be awake

It is a mirror
That is you
And that is what you have left
To walk in company
To be empty and smiling
To not care
Now you must suffer
In the knowledge of your new vantage

Your hand is in the mirror
The coldest cold you've ever felt
is pulling you in
All you can do is look into the reflection
or choose to step in
But one way or another, in you shall go
Into the motionless space
Where the rest you left to find waits.
Hooray for insomnia caused by mental trauma. It took me 4 hours to write this I hope somebody reads the whole thing lol.

Building a Fire. Higher.
Tyrel Kriger Dec 2016
I want to wrap you up
In warm shades
Blankets of rich smoothness
So you always know
Regardless, I'm there

I want to share the heat
I have in my soul
With another flame
Not all that different
But not at all the same

Won't you come with me
Two inches off the ground
Holding hands
Folding fingers
The moment lingers
Streatched and kept
Sacred in out collective heart

Let us make moments
That make the whole world better
For simply having happened
Unequal as all other such moments
But so similar in importance

This is how we save the world
This is how we speak
Not with words
But with heat
Sheltering all around
From the coldness of the ground.

Fleeting era;
Blossom of humanity;
I caught you by the tail,
And now you’re slipping out of my hand.

As we pack ourselves tighter in;
As we close the gaps with our wondrous tools;
We lose our colour,
And melt together.

Tolerance, gift of our violence.
You paint our faces all the same.
I cannot deny your higher road.
I cannot deny my head is turned,
While being driven on with the rest of us.

Like an arrow through a vacuum we fly.
feeling the oscillation of the shaft,
looking down its length at one moment,
and not being able to see over the curve the next.

Pointing at the flex from our momentary vantage.
as if we or they were responsible,
and not the bow
that fired us long long ago.
The more I learn the more amazing it is to see our collective path as a species. Its like we are free individually but are always fated to collectively travel one direction. What do you think?

Deaf and Dirty
Tyrel Kriger Oct 2016
I look around as i see it now
They're all so low and i cant see how
They can be stuck in a silent place
To and froe at steady place

Oh love come back to me now
A sudden shot
and I don't know how

I'm in love with the human race
I see hope in every face
Oh love don't leave me now
disappear and I forget how

To see the light in every soul
When on and on we steadily go
To get to a brand new place
It's all the same at this broken pace

Oh love come back to me now
What set it off
And Can i learn how

To control the state I'm in
When waters roll I'm tumblin
that fire it needs some fuel
It doesn't want to be a tool

But what of they that's all they are
Backs bent and wishing on stars

Last time
Was something beautifle
Lay on the earth
Trees shooting up
Cathedral windows in the branches
That soft sweet summer air
Shade of green
Smell of soil
Slipping through like an hour glass
Close my eyes
It will last forever
Take it in
It will die with me
the day I go home
All this will die with me
And it is mine

My eyes
My synapse
Fluxuateing waves of truth
Blue skies and winter storms
Summer rain frosty pink dawns
Never shared

They are my single point
pointalism of my frame rate reference
Streatched for my survival
And for my happiness

I am here
I am now
I am going
I will end
And others will start

Loves lost in flame
Loves forged in ice
All of this is mine
And no one else can ever have it
No matter how long they studied
No matter how long they tried.

I am now
And nothing can be replicated.
Nothing can be replaced

Hiding in a beautiful cave
Listen to the twinkling lights
That he made there
Pupils wide and skin pale
Blind though he knows
his home
by the feel of the stone

In the shell of the land
Hiding from the shadows
Of light outside
Listening to the twinkle
of water drops

To hide from shadows
is to live in the dark
Smashing stones for sparks

Tyrel Kriger Oct 2016
I used to go to class
And now I'm sifting through Smashed glass
with my hands

I told my dear boys
I would stop buying more toys
And try to get in with the band
But now I'm trying to prove my worth
By Smashing Mother Earth
And proving ****** work will still stand

I want to tipple topple over
And burn it to a smolder
As I watch this shitropolis expand.
We put them in the cubicles
To try and make them feel more full
But all that ever fills up is the air And the land.

I hope when all the years go by
I'll look back and wonder why
I Chose not to care About my time
and the thoughts
That occupy my mind

During all of those days
I chose To be blind Left behind
To remind me that

Days are numbered
And when we slumber
They slip slyly by
Waiting for a meaning To which I sigh. What is the meaning To the bleeding
Of our short lived reality?

To except and expect there nothing more to be?
It's all we know And all we ever will
And a thought like that can make you Ill So you spill Evil Into the world

I want to tipple topple over
And burn it to a smolder
As I watch this shitropolis expand
I want to roll it all over
With a steady stream of boulders
A victory for the land.
Construction work was depressing. I see this as dark humor now.

Gown of Dreams
Tyrel Kriger Oct 2016
I'm afraid of the way your looking
I'm a man who won't back down
you should know that I'll be waiting
with  your wedding gown

the valley of a mountain
with thicker forest thicket
dangerous youthfull fountain
gave us two one ticket

climbed so strong my legs
were burning trunks of fir
carrieed coloured flags
you far behind a stir

I'll let you down
before you find me
don't turn around
there's nothing to see here

I've never found
what it is you see inside me
don't turn around
there's nothing much to see

5 years and your eyes may see me
as I can not recall
your eyes they do complete me
I've never felt so tall

don't turn around
let's only look ahead
don't turn around
till just before we're dead

look at my eyes
I've always been so real
look at them now
this world is how I feel

theres mountains in the distance
there calling us back home
and there will be a Day
when both of us have gone

your wedding gown is waiting
just beneath the sky
so let's only look right here now
in case we both should die

your heaven love is waiting
on tops of mountains high
steady steps were taking
we will live to touch the sky
Some more from the vault

Here I am devoid of trauma
Waiting for it
All my troubles
The smallest part of anthing
That is real

The things that I let
Hold me from the strain
Would hold water
But not hearty broth

We are afroth
With simplistic hinderence
We are alive
Cultivating anger, passion
From small discrepancies
In our superiority

This word and not that
Ascribing universal truth
From a devided
One planet species

Thinking true and high
But still arguing
As if the two were
simultaneously possible.

Called
Tyrel Kriger Sep 2016
Do I feel you when I'm in the car?
Do I feel you when I gaze at stars?
How do I know if it's you or not?
Always cutting corners you won't get caught.

Did you call me here to dissappear?
Did you call me here to dissappear?
Closed my eyes, I'm not seeing much.
Put my hand on you face to see by touch.

Did you call me here to disappear?
Did you call me here to disappear?
All you want is my money, my blood and guts.
My mind and my breath until the beating cuts.

Do I feel you near when I play guitar?
And all the other things that give me scars?
I'm running over pages and my heart is tired.
Is it just an app or should I be rewired?

If I got down on my knees
and called your name
Would you promise me that
it's the truth your saying

If I go out swimming
With the holy man
Would it be only then
I could understand?

Trials of the Beacons
Tyrel Kriger Sep 2016
from the golden tree
That apple of which I bit
and then tossed down hill
rolled down along the pit
got scuffed with mud and spit
our minds forgot
our bodies ought not
control our thought

from such beacons
do we all depart
trying to find our place,
our very own part
feeling for others souls
with are hands, without heart
to such depths all must go
getting filthy just to know
when we find a convenient answer
upwards we to flow

we take it up, hold it high
figuring that if it touched the sky
amongst us would the beacon live
free for all to share and and give
our jewel, blissful humanity slays
for amongst our rivalry is it lain

we all fight the good fight
some haven't been able to take a bite
and hide away
thinking they missed the last good day
Wrote this back in high school. The symbol of the apple is still one of my favorite. And I'm not alone in that haha.

To a Freind
Tyrel Kriger Sep 2016
When nobody is looking
She moves with ghostly grace
Haunting the house she still lives in
Phantom of her own soul

Breaker of her own mirror
Shes picking up the pieces
One shard at a time
Making them fit, making it right

When I look away, away she glides
To perch herself high on the cliffs
Wind playing with her hair
Her face tense In beautiful contemplation

Then the colours she can't define
Seep from her mind
And paint the rock around her
She stairs at the water below, the mountains above

It is a great sight
A beautifle struggle
It all unfold and work out
I know it will

Oh no there no denying
His heart is partly crazy
Part of his design
He's crying like a baby

You know she left him blind
He used her eyes to see feely
Trying to leave it all behind
Oh where the hell is he?

Just what's he try to find
Is. he. looking. in the. right way
He plays the role his soul said to play
His mind unkind as to taking his sweet time
The curse he burst into the scene
Flailing arms and eyes looking mean
A fire under his *** as he try to pass
Crash crash crash.

O'malleys Space Voyage
Tyrel Kriger Aug 2016
After you killed me back in the dirt
Got revived, Strung out, all split apart
Shipped aboard and slung into space
Sure it wasn't the plan but in any case
You'll never be far from my heart

And though this new voyage
Is further than the last
I've gone out and come home before
Though space it changes
As each moments past
It seems now theres less to explore

So there I sit
in my captains chair
My body a vessel so sound
What waits in space
An illustrious race
To search out some new solid ground

But out i must go
For to sit all alone
Can drive a certain kind of man mad
Its true I'm doomed
to be always that kind
But I guess I'm also quite glad

Though to search umungst
dead ends unending
May be a life long chore
Romance is a dance
And I'll be moving my feet
In faith there's still something more

From far you gaze out the backwood haze
A gohst not to be named
But I'll fondly recall
That first love of mine
That taught my heart how to fall
An attempt at a structured poem.  lol.

Juice it Candy
Tyrel Kriger Aug 2016
Buddy guy boy man
Sitting all alone in his house
Lickin sweet candy
like a satiated mouse

Candy is a girl
Sweet like her name
She always seemed attracted
To the wrong kind of fame

Buddy boy man child
Sitting on the couch
He wants to be a wild child
But all he does is slouch

And he paints his walls red
With sounds in his head
miss candy in his bed
He's got 2 TV's
And a huge deep feeez
Where he keeps his heart
Right next to the pizza pops

Stranger than the danger
Of his self made prison
The prisom of his mind
Splitting all of his decisions

Candy couldn't take it
But she loved him anyway
So she faked it to break it
played him like a game
Kept on calling out his name

Man of the sloth
Watched Candy find a cross
But he looked the other way
While she left him at a loss

Heart sinking fast
Soul sinking low
As he fights against himself
His choices come and go

Now Looking out the window
With a fire in his eyes
He took a step outside
After dawning a disguise

Walking to and fro
He's a chilled out bro
Walking for the candy
That layed him so low

For oh so long
Now that the sweetness is gone
He's gotta try to find some fruit
Because the bitter is so strong

Juice it.
Tyrel Kriger Aug 2016
Do you feel that?
That tar
That slick blackness
Oh it's not at the surface
And you want to beleive it doesn't exist
But there is something ugly in all of us

Once released it billows out of our throats
Chin's upturned and eyes ablaze
Like diesel exaust
Thick black burning fuel
That we use to make regrets
And generate hatred in those within reach

It fills your muscles with vigor
And your mind with fight
And when you swing your aim is truer
To your darkest intentions
And when you talk you snip parts away
From the weakest parts of people

Its a sort of hateful x ray vision
That only let's you see the black
In every living soul
Allowing for a true yet unnecessary justice
That has self perpetuated
Since the dawn of intelligence on earth

Its so very ugly and graceless
But it exists
To be apathetic to it
is to slowly let it seep into the ground
Poisoning the water
And masses at once
This is a grater danger
than the enflamed individual

Its unnoticeable
until it builds to a point I'm all
And history will show
All it takes is a spark
For the world to burn.

To all of you who thought
I took it like a champ
I didn't

I cried like a child
I drank like a fish

I clung to ideas
That couldn't hold up the weight
Of my curiosity
I looked for easy ways out
I begged God to make things
the way they were before
To change my past

I searched and found all my flaws
And tried to **** them
To be good enough
To be what I used to be

I crawled and moped
And blamed myself for everything
While being hardly able to do anything
but sleep

When you saw me
You saw an actor
So unsure of his role
That he hammed it up

Every smile, display of happyness
The mirror reaction
To the true inside death

I was not okey
I was not a champ
I was alone for the first time
Since I was a boy

***** throne and stony crown
Ruler of the sub terrain
You hearth none

But here comes the loudest voice
your mental state
Made physical by his touch
All in his presence must look

to look away is to hide from truth
Only to hear that screaming voice
behind your head
Like a Raging battle
Over your shoulders

A voice so loud and true
The most planted of men
Are uncomfortably lifted from there plot
And made to stand and look in mirrors

Ocean Spray
Tyrel Kriger Jun 2016
And I picture our old hands together
the sun shines through our fingers
as our hearts dance in the warm wind
faces worn from laughter and happiness

walking in that space where
the melting sunset and crashing waves
create a smooth hard plain of sand
closer to that smell of ocean wind

there are many great expanses
the ocean is in reality but a small one of the many
but when we look out at it
what joy we get from not knowing whats around the curve

walked to a place, out of the coastal forest
to the spot where the wind is strong
and the spray might hit you as you feel what you came for
as you watch the violent glory

I picture myself, I'm alone,  I stand on a rock
while the wind blasts my hair back
while the waves roar and break against the granite
the grey sky fills and empties me with each breath,

it moves quickly inland while the waves writhe in
,filling the cracks and submerged caves
washing over barnacles and wearing down everything over
,down and up when it hits the steep part, crashing and spraying into the air

mist falls mixing with the rain while space is made behind
and out the ocean pulls over the sharp rocks and barnacles
dragging with it some tidal pool dwelling fish
back until is rejoins its body, frothed and *****

all men know the beauty of destruction
when you stand in that grit, that discomfort, bundled accordingly
wet shoes and soaked socks, beaten by the beauty of that expanse
what joy we get from not knowing whats around the curve

I long for warm air
I long for sand between my toes
we laughed while the waves chased us up the shore
me always chasing the wave faster back down
to prove i could run away with ease
you higher up watching smiling waiting
in came the big set, swept me off my feet and churned me in the chop
when I looked up you were gone.

The Crane
Tyrel Kriger Jun 2016
now i'm a dilapidated sloth man
loosing my youth and more
just to find the truth
so that I can soar

But the truth isn't enough
because what I had before was.
and the answers aren't all tough
when you unfold that paper crane
a square piece of paper plain
with lines, creases, reminders of what was
and that beauty slain

lays on the table
just from those lines
that crane becomes fable
as you try to make that paper shine

awe ****, now I rubbed a hole in it
at least I can hold it to the sky
and shoot a painful sunbeam into my eye
but the sun too does its damage

so here I am with this crumpled mess
holding it to my eye so I can see through
to fold it back up again
faded and flimsy it begins to rain

Ill hold out, Ill make it through
cant stop looking searching for whats true
that beauty that grace that purity that face
maybe Ill hold it out to gain that broader view
ripped off the corners and speedily withdrew
my hands and ran for a mirror

I could take it off but it would fall apart
isn't it better to be tattooed than to let that crane go?
I'm not sure I don't know
how's is it different from that original state
folded on the table
I though this was fate
is this how we grow?
fading wondrous fable
how am I to know.

Here I am now
walking around a ***** square on my face for all to see
and the people they ask me
the same things they always did
what are you doing with that?
because it was always just a piece of paper
and that's a beautiful thing to know
its a peaceful thing to know.

Lovers
Tyrel Kriger Jun 2016
Of what weight does love hold?
Cosmic gigantic love
Streatching from star to star,
from time to time,
Leaping all barriers,
In an insane hurtle race
Run by rabid contenders,
Frothing at the mouth,
Colidicopes in their eyes
Swirling,

As they clear fence after fence
Hardly catching themselves
As their sloppy foot falls land,
All ankles, knees, wobblingly
catching themselves
Their brains decifering
the confused code
Of signals beamed
from legs heart and stomach
All culminating in this
Borderline
Purposeful looking
Yet unintentional
Floppy mess

For in the sake of their love
, Of some thing that they hope
will make them immortal,
or at least super,
That temporary and basic seemingly
Irrefutable good that one feels in his pit
Expanding them and inflating them till they float

High enough above others
To squintingly look down, into the eyes of those unable to bouey bob above the rest.
Lights flicking on their foreheads so
Even if they don't talk people know
Where they are and how splendid
Their bobbing is.

And let's not kid ourselfs
Look at those two
Out in the dark and deep
The 2 hrtz signal allowing them each
To be sure the other exists
Flashes reveal the hidden expressions
Those times of clarity so sparce
When all you want to do is look at them
For a good long time
Take in the other completely
for in those nights
When all thoughts clump
Turning colours to brownish purple.
An you cannot see the other
to have them help as they so enjoy.
Two distant bleeps of light
Red but none the less visible
To all around

After all I guess they will be serving as warner's, out their on thier own.
What rocks and reefs the will they arbrais
What swells will the brave,
And what will we learn from
watching From shore,
Whishing them luck as the sun rests on the other side, as the white caps tumble, as the clouds roll on overhead.
Its a very wet scenario.

Loved One You Faithful
Tyrel Kriger Jun 2016
Did you ever find the straight and narrow?
Sweet one, happy one, joyful one
You said hold on to your oddity
did get you there?

Happyness has changed for me
And so I am narrowing
And straightening my things
I always believed one day, as you did

That I would have to throw away my sins
Turn my back and leave my ways behind
And try to live in honest
So that I'd have nothing hidden

How did you come by that way
Sweet one, small one, honest one
You seemed to be born into it
I know it doesn't make things easier

What road must I follow?
Which turns do I take?
Or is there some switch to flick
That makes one feel full when hungry

This mask this story, mine
Traveled one, hopeful one, laughing one
You lived breathed the best you could
You were not the man who killed christ
You are not the man who sold his soul
You are the man you were and will be
But more, the man you are

So to find that precious gift
That seems devine in nature
That seems part of and yet above the beasts
The trees and gentle creatures
The narrow path, the knowing the sureness

For to know anything is faith
And faith cannot be but blind
And yet we must choose
Where to put it and if it is justly put

All these women
Making contact, connections
With their eyes
Across vacume space
created by their interest
What power
What draw

The secret to gravity must then be feminine
A black hole pulling In
Shooting out the most energetic beams
Ever recorded

A center with wich to spin around
swirl and atract
Meld, melt and mold
Forming us men
Out of elements previously non existant
Fused by their mass,
Into the titans we think, feel, we are.

I don't think they know
And maybe a good thing too
That they were always more powerful
Be it on a stake with flame
Or in the bedroom dreams of Kings.

Tyrel Kriger Jun 2016
when those tears roll down your cheeks
from your starry glossy eyes
they catch on a silver string
and bring on a beauty unsynthesized

when your chest is heaving heavy
and your voice sings with sadness
as I hold you my arms a blanket
my back to carry the madness

Those times we both were sinking
lips tight while we both knew
the earth rising all around us
but the sky still never changed its blue

the fire always burning
sending smoke signals to the air
you hugged me tighter still
I ran my fingers through your hair

when you cry you look so wonderful
like when it finally starts to rain
and I watch the dry spots disappear
maybe its washing away the pain

giving life to all around us
carving valleys out of plains
cracking rocks on top of mountains
putting blood within in our veins

when the fire roars again
I cant make out whats burning
but its warmth is so admired
that its no longer worth discerning
